   My husbands extra large fish and my grandsons fish nuggets were soft and beautiful. Unfortunately my regular sixed cod was burnt to a sizzle so i couldnt chew it so i ended up with only chips.bit disappointing as drove 45 minutes

   Disappointed. Was expecting a decent sized piece of flaky cod enclosed in a crisp batter not a lank flat piece of processed mush. The ‘ragged’ pudding and sliceable gravy was equally disappointing. Sad to give this review as have enjoyed in the past.

   Terrible. A blatant rip off attempt that assumes their fish loving customers are fools. The same tiny, flat size fish is a joke for £12,50. Made worse that it’s the same size when you order the Jumbo option at £15. Trying to fool us instead with a silly amount of chips. I’ve never sent a meal back until our visit to this place. Plenty of fab alternatives in Holmfirth. Not surprised the restaurant was empty apart from us.

   Having been to the Chippy for over 20 years we went to celebrate a birthday. We spent £146 and had to send the first 5 meals back as they sent us old reheated chips out which the waitress agreed had been reused. They sent a second lot but the fish by this time were not at their best due to the wait. I would be reluctant to return again in case the same thing happened. Shame as we have special memories of this place as a child etc.

   There were 12 in the party, service was slow but no one minded, food was good. Restaurant was busy so staff were stretched, they coped well but waiting time was extended. Problem contacting this venue, they didn't reply to emails and didn't answer the phone, this must loose them business. Also Open Table booking system did not allow me to book 12 persons so I booked for 8, a few days later I tried to book 4 more places and it wont let you use the same email address. Booking system being the only way to contact venue a load of hassle, in the end I had to drive over there !

    Food was mediocre, I used to bring my elderly aunt and Uncle, they no longer offer pensioner or smaller portions, (no longer an option) over facing portions, chips overcooked the bread was stale, most of the food was left and was overpriced, as their was no option for smaller meals for my elderly relatives both in their 80’s, no atmosphere, this was once a fantastic place to bring my family, what’s happened? Won’t be going back. 🙁🙁🙁
