   This is a personality plus place in the sea of faceless restaurants n Palo Alto. The music was great and the staff was friendly and warm-- no chip on their shoulders like so many restaurants in the area. We started with one of the specialty cocktails then moved on to perfectly- cooked coconut shrimp and delicious jerk chicken (white meat) with beans and rice. I wish I could have ordered more but portions are so generous nothing more was needed. The outdoor dining is actually an alley painted in vibrant colors with focal point being a plastic palm tree. This place is very fun.

   I've been going to Coconuts almost since it opened. I'm not sure if the ownership changed lately, but the food has definitely gone downhill. The menu has changed and some of my favorite dishes are no longer on it. The ones they have seem a little limited. I had a special - a fish curry - which I'd had before and loved, but this time I could barely eat it; it just wasn't the same. It was sloppy and slimy, and had almost more okra than fish - and okra is something many people dislike so I feel it was an odd choice to combine with the fish, even in a Caribbean restaurant. At least without warning people when telling them of the dish (it was a special so not on the menu). The starter was also not as good as it had been and the amazing guacamole they used to do didn't appear to be on the menu. The service was mostly good, and there's a pretty outdoor section in an alleyway between buildings. It's just a shame about the food, as I used to really look forward to having a meal here.

   Always pleasantly surprised at the flavors (and quality) of the meals. Wish I had a bigger stomach!

   The restaurant was hopping on a Friday night. Despite a reservation we had to wait as diners were lingering. The atmosphere is very lively and vibrant so be prepared for that. The service was a bit uneven due to so many customers. The food was good and we enjoyed it a great deal.

   Our waiter was great - attentive, friendly and efficient. The food at Coconuts is always fantastic, especially the pork bites!

   I suspect due to road construction on the street out front, there were fewer patrons than I would have expected...even for an early lunch. The music was a tad loud for how empty it was, but the food was outstanding. Try the Mango Lemonade!

   Food: excellent Service: excellent Noise: excruciating There was definitely a party atmosphere during lunch hour this last Saturday. A large table was a roar in the same room as we were in. The noise was about 110 decibles by iPhone measurement. It hurt our ears. Otherwise, everything was very nice. Enjoy!

   We love the hour at the restaurant. On this visit food took quite a bit longer to be served but still delicious. You must get a side of the collard greens.

    I would have given 5 stars to service but we told our waiter that we were attending a play. Our reservation was for 6:30 but we weren't served our food until 7:20 and we had to leave by 7:45 latest. Probably not the waiter's fault but it was a shame to have to rush eating our dinners. As soon as our food came we asked for our check and boxes. But it was so good we will go there again. This was our 2nd time there.
