   5 Stars — A Must for Brunch Lovers! Cocina 35 Brunch in Coronado totally exceeded my expectations! The food was absolutely amazing — flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented (those chilaquiles were perfection!). The atmosphere is stunning — it feels like you’re dining in a floral dream. And the service? So friendly and attentive from start to finish. Everything from the colorful mini aguas frescas flight to the cozy café con leche made the experience feel special. This place is a total vibe — super, super pretty and perfect for a brunch date or girls’ day out. Tip: Make a reservation — it’s definitely the best way to get in without waiting.    Excellent will go back again soon. Not many chilaquiles places in SD but this one is amazing

   Delicious chilaquiles and cafe de la olla latte. Service was very friendly and they accommodated our group of 10 nicely. Reservations are essential because the restaurant is in high demand.

   While the food was good, the service was subpar. To start off, our server barely checked in on us; our waters were never brought to us (water was the only beverage for our child) - midway through our meal, I had to ask another server/manager that walked past us since we could never get our server’s attention; 2/3 meals came out quickly - great, the last meal for our child took almost 15mins after we received ours, then the food runner dropped the plate of food onto her lap, covering her clothes, lap, food on her chair, & on the floor. There was never any apology, no additional napkins offered, no acknowledgement. I understand accidents happen, but found it unacceptable that not one person acknowledged/addressed the accident - not our server, whom I had to seek out for additional napkins, so she was fully aware of what happened, not a single manager came to us during our meal to address it. At the end of our meal, I thought at that time, just maybe, the server would acknowledge what happened & would offer some sort of compensation of our child’s meal or a small discount - still no apology & no compensation of any sort. At that time, I said something to the server of my disappointment & mentioned if this is something she’s unable to do, I’m ok with speaking to a manager. A manager did come to our table - she was apologetic of the situation, as she was unaware. She ended up compensating our entire meal for three. I fully appreciate her decision to go above & beyond, as that was never what I wanted. & while the manager made a wrong, a right, it only happened due to me asking to speak to the manager. It was never offered to us & we would have never received an apology otherwise.

   We decided to check out the new location in Coronado for my mom and daughter’s birthday. We reserved a week in advance for 10 people and we were not seated until 35 minutes after our reservation even though our full party had arrived early and checked in at their requested time. We had to wait for cutlery and waters long too after requesting them multiple times. Great food, service could be better especially considering 20% gratuity is included.

    Food was good but service was poor. We sat for a while waiting to have our drink order taken. When our server arrived, she asked for our drink order and told us we can order our food already. So, that felt kind of rushed. We orders 2 waters a coffee and horchata. The horchata arrived but no water, no coffee. Waited a bit more for my coffee and finally got it. Wasn’t aware abt the piloncillo in the table, wasn’t told about it until later. The food arrived and it was ok. Nothing I would say is extraordinary. It’s a beautiful spot and that’s the only thing I can say was pretty amazing. The view and the fact that it was a beautiful day. Would I come here again? Probably not because of the service.
