   Family was in town for my 40th birthday so we decided to do an early Mother’s Day. Made a reservation through OpenTable and emailed in advance about the feed me chef tasting option. We made sure to specify that we would need a red meat on the tasting if that was available. We got a reply that said no problem. From the beginning, it just seemed disorganized. Showed a few minutes early for our 8 PM reservation and we were told the reservation wasn’t until 830 and there was no place for us to wait and they would let us know when it was ready. Didn’t really specify how they would let us know. They called a few minutes later to say they made a mistake And they misheard the name. It’s weird because she repeated my name back to me. I get it. Everybody makes mistakes but I didn’t quite understand the fib. We sit down and the remainder of our party arrives about 10 minutes later. I wanted to already have a bottle of wine ordered, but our waiter hadn’t come by. We sat there for another 10 minutes Before I finally asked if we could order a bottle of wine. I was a little surprised because the review said the service was really good. After he bought out the wine, he then asked us if we were ready to order about the minutes later. We had been there 30m. This whole time we thought they were making our first course because we had already emailed an advance. We said no, we wanna do the feed me option And we mention the red meat. He said that we would have to add a steak on. This wasn’t discussed at all and I normally wouldn’t care but we did reach out in advance. Just kind of seem like they dropped the ball. Several courses we were having to wait for plates or silverware. Food was pretty good. Nothing really blew us away, but it was unique and well executed. It was my first time and I’m willing to give it another shot. Just my husband and I,but we definitely won’t do the feed me option. It ended up being about 200 a person and I’ve had better for that price point in San Antonio.

   The menu changes often which is good because it offers choices. The soft shell crab is very good and so are the squash blossoms.

   The food was amazing and more than I hoped for. We were in town for a conference and as a vegetarian who appreciates good restaurants I had done some research ahead of time. Reading about the talented husband wife duo and James Beard recognition was enough for me. I would say overall, for San Antonio, the dishes here were plant forward. There was a lot to choose from and each dish was unique without trying too hard. Every one had an incredible flavor profile. Thoughtful and fresh ingredients. I had a killer mocktail and the best rendition of a strawberry shortcake I have ever had. And we had great service as well. I would highly recommend going here. I took a 15 minute Uber ride and it was worth it. I would love to try the tasting menu if I had the opportunity to go back. 10/10

   Fantastic as always. The Feed Me option is the way to go. Always something new and unique. Flavors are superb. Service is excellent. Wonderful place to celebrate special occasions

   The food was outstanding! It always is! We love Clementine. We arrived about 7 mins late because of a wreck on the highway. When we arrived, the young man and young woman seating people made it VERY CLEAR that there was another reservation for our table in 90 minutes. They were both cold and unfriendly and made us feel like we needed to set the stopwatch on my iphone. This was our anniversary and it started it on a sour note, and it was absolutely unnecessary. As it turned out, we finished our meal and left in time for their next reservation. Those two young people were surly and rude. That was unnecessary. The rest of the night -- our waiter, the food, etc., was great, but I would have fired those two employees if I could.

   We chose the “Feed Me” dining experience and was truly a culinary adventure! We would highly recommend. It was our first time trying Clementine and won’t be our last.

   If I had a dollar for every great meal I've had at Clementine... well, you get the picture. Friday lunches are for friends and lovers. I appreciate the effort and thoughtfulness that goes into the menu.. very wine friendly. Thanks to the team, a highlight of the month.
