Nice atmosphere. Really tasty fresh food. Good range of choices on the menu. Great service. We will use this restaurant again when we are in the area.

Very good food and excellent service. Don't order any sides with your main course - it comes with potatoes, veg and salad already. We didn't know that and ended up with a huge doggy bag for the homeless.

A nice play to be however a little bit sterile and not really cosy. Nice for colleagues not with family, girlfriend etc

Arrived at 12.30 for an opentable booking. Lots of staff lounging around the bar and deli aisles. We are eventually shown to a table after waiting to be noticed by the several waiter looking types behind the bar immediately in front of us. Sit anywhere! It was not busy. The lunch menu was not on til 1 so we wandered around outside through the vacant emptiness of a not yet completed City Island and came back after 10 minutes. Could we have two bloody Mary’s please? Oh no the cocktail waiter is not here til 1! Obviously the numerous staff milling around languidly were not authorised to grab some vodka tomato juice pepper etc and stick them in a glass with some ice. We left immediately and went to a nice Italian place down the road where the single waiter produced two very decent bloody Mary’s when asked. We had the curious sense that “The City Grocer” was a simulation, a lifestyle prop for the property development company, about as authentic as the bar with the cappuccino machine in one’s local branch of Foxtons. The food might be great but we will never know as we won’t be going back. We will stick to real restaurants with actual waiters who will assist you in any way they can

Fab quiet Saturday catch up with friend. We left our dessert decision so late they had run out of the 2 that we wanted, shows how good they must have been - so will have to return to try next time🤗

Great experience. The servers were friendly and the service was prompt. Food was generous portions and well seasoned. We had the veal fried and also in mushroom cream which were both good. The fries and the fried courgettes were also nice sides. Overall a nice buzz to this place would recommend if in the area
