   Just what I was looking for : French onion soup ! Beautiful setting with spectacular piano and singer. Perfect mood Service was a bit spoty but the maitre d’ filled in like a pro.

   Very good choice for a pre-theater dinner. Excellent 3-course menu for $45 per person. Quick and tasty. Classic French bistro atmosphere with a live piano player. Very nice.

   For 40 some years, a huge favorite of ours when in the city. There’s always a very well-priced prix fixe menu with very wonderful selections. One of the few places left in New York with a piano soloist playing light background music nightly. Chez Jo has its together!

   It was a very good early dinner. Great selection on the menus . The beet salad was excellent, as was my Chilean sea bas with mushroom risotto. My husbands tuna tartare and steak tartare were also great. The portions were rather large and if we knew it ahead of time we would have ordered two appetizers or share , instead of leaving this delicious food on the plate . The service was very attentive,but not intrusive. And of course the piano. Thank for a wonderful experience.

   Chez Josephine is an awesome old school place. Food and wine were great, service was great. Not many of these kinds of places left in town. Go while it’s still around!

    Chez Josephine has become our go-to spot whenever we visit New York, particularly the theater district. Their menu has expanded over the years, but my wife & I tend to stick to our delicious favorite items, the Bershire pork chop and the duck. Both are always prepared perfectly, and the presentation is beautiful. On this occasion, we were in a big rush, and we were able to sit down, order, eat, pay the bill and leave all in less than an hour! Big props to the staff for making this possible.
