The Chestnut Inn is a lakeside destination in the grand tradition of the Catskill resorts of 1940s and ‘50s. First opened on the shores of Oquaga Lake in 1927, the structure was built in the Craftsman style using the now extinct American Chestnut. Our 17-room boutique property has earned membership in Historic Hotels of America.

Dining opportunities available to guests and visitors range from outdoor dining (weather permitting) on the waterfront terrace located lakeside, to the sunroom featuring stunning water views from a wall of windows. There is also the formal dining room as well as the waterside tavern for cocktails and casual bites. Join us for an elegant dinner featuring French-inspired cuisine or enjoy spirits and light fare in the Tavern. Relax with brunch every Sunday.

    Our server Josh was super nice and provided great service! Dinner was delicious and atmosphere was quiet ( we had an early dinner overlooking the lake). Such a superb introduction to the Inn! Stayed there as well and highly recommend it!! We will be back!

    Mother's Day fix menu well worth it. Sat where bar is and only had one server doing both the bar and tables, she was remarkable. Kept up to all the tables which were larger parties.

    The staff is excellent, it was Burger night so we all had burgers, they were great and the fires are the best.

    Settlers Hospitality has done a great job getting the Chestnut opened back up. Burger nights are back, but this time with a lot more options. We're looking forward to many more trips over as the summer starts to unfold!

    This is such a great place and it so beautiful on the lake. The staff is incredible, a great dinning experience.

    We went for Sunday brunch. The food was amazing and different. Not your typical brunch food. Our server, Samantha, was friendly and knowledgeable. If you go, be sure to request her.

    Enjoyed a fantastic weekend for the first time. Room was excellent, beds comfortable view of lake breathtaking. We loved our brunch selections. Dinner was also amazing. Great menu in both cases. The staff made our stay and dining memorable. We are doing this again. Recommend to a friend? We already have to friends and family alike. Joe & Jan
