   Unfortunately we had to wait 50 minutes for a table with a view despite reservations. But to be fair there were limited options for a party of 6. View was great and service was fine but salads were a bit soggy and fish was overcooked. Beef was perfect, however. So overall good, not great.

   We went for a family birthday celebration. We were a party of 7. Had noted birthday on my reservation and to the restaurant when they called to confirm day before that we were still coming. Our waiter never mentioned anything to us regarding a dessert for the birthday guest., which I specifically heard a different waiter do at the table next to us. He told us twice bread would be coming in a couple minutes, even though other waiters were bringing bread to guests seated well after us. We had to ask him twice. Four guests got Prime Rib, one was perfect the other three not so great and really fatty. Lastly we were overcharged for a side salad with entree. I also didn’t get all my Landrys points that should have been earned. I had to call Landrys directly to get that rectified. We have been going to this restaurant for a long time. Lately I feel it’s been hit or miss. I was just disappointed since we had family coming in from out of town and this should have been better. Noticed manager never stopped by our table as he did others too!

   Excellent happy hour. Great selection of drinks and appetizers and the view is gorgeous of the bay.

   Way overrated for the price. Slowest service I have had a a fine restaurant. Prime rib was only fair without much taste. Wife’s fish dish with macadamia nuts was very dry. Can’t recommend and won’t return. Way too many better options in Longboat Key and surrounding area.

   What a great view. Our service was outstanding and the food was very good!! Get the chocolate lava cake. It will not disappoint!

   Overall, we have always enjoyed dining at the Chart House. Although it has been a few years since we have been to the one on Longboat Key. Our waitress was particularly good and a pleasure to converse with. She was knowledgeable and gave us good guidance on some of the menu items we were contemplating. The one big miss was one dinner came to the table completely room temperature like it had sat for some time. This was both the fish and the potatoes. On my dinner, which was good, the blistered tomatoes had a cold center on everyone that I bit into. Unfortunately, the waitress was busy and did not make it back to our table to check on us until we were finished with both dinners. It is one of my biggest pet peeves. Food needs to come out hot or the correct temperature for what it is supposed to be on time. Bottom line I would recommend Chart House but not to my friends.

   We enjoyed our visit at the Chart House. We have been dining there for almost 40 years. Food was good, service very good. It was noisy and crowded but still very nice.

   Our waitress jessica in the bar area was tremendous. She was very quick attentive and had a fantastic personality. The meal in the main dining was very good. There was a little inflexibility by the cooking staff when a request for a salad with a piece of grouper was requested. They said they couldn't do it so we had to order a separate chopped salad and then we had to order the grouper dinner in which one of the people only wanted the piece of grouper so we had one single serving of grilled grouper and had to pay the full price for a whole group or dinner.
