Focusing predominately on fresh local seafood with a French, Lowcountry flare, Charlie’s is the place for good food, good wine and unforgettable memories all enjoyed in a quaint French country atmosphere.

A Savannah native, Charlie Golson’s interest in the French language and culture took him to Paris. After a long stint in the fast paced hotel kitchens of Washington DC, he was ready to move back closer to home. It was at that time he was able to open up a one room French bistro. The restaurant has grown over the years, but the ‘Green Star’ remains steadfast in offering the finest ingredients the Low country has to offer with a menu that is hand written daily. Resort Casual.

Charlie's menu has a variety of wonderful items to choose from. We have been going to Charlie's for many years; every time we come to Hilton Head, we have dinner at Charlie's. We always enjoy the crab salad with avocado. Last night the seared tuna was prepared perfectly, 2 of our party enjoyed the duck, and one person got the whole blackened sea bass and pronounced it excellent. Several members of our party had special cocktails and liked them very much. The creme caramel and pave au chocolat are favorite desserts. We also love the dinner sides, especially the fresh salad and the potatoes. I wish I could make such delicious potatoes at home. The service at Charlie's is very good. Last night Michele took very good care of our table.

Annually celebrate my birthday here with the family. Always enjoy the fish preparation. Tonight , with the exception of the halibut, our choices were delicious. The halibut was over cooked but still very good My husband doesn’t like seafood so he ordered two appetizers The pate was frozen! He ate some and we brought the rest home . He had caprese salad next and the tomatoes were cold instead of room temperature. The service was very slow which normally wouldn’t be an issue but I made an early reservation because of the age and tolerance on my grandchildren. Had to ask the server for child’s menu which came with crayons. Seemed she could have been more attentive.

Thank you for the feedback, sounds like we didn't do anything right. The pate is refrigerated but not frozen and the tomatoes are suppose to be cold per DHEC regulations. We could have addressed all of your concerns had we know at the time of your visit. Please accept our apologies and gift card, we will text it to your phone.

Our first time dining here. It was wonderful. We had a quiet table indoors. Flounder and Halibut were both perfectly prepared. Service was outstanding. Coming back next week with friends.

Monday night dinner at Charlie’s is An annual must for our vacation in HH. Although every table is full, you feel like you are the only group in the resturant. Food is delicious and the staff is very knowledgeable about the wine offered. A wonderful dining experience.
