About this restaurant

  • Kid-friendly
  • Good for special occasions
  • Charming
Indulge your inner child and adventure into the magical, mouth-watering world of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with our enchanting afternoon tea, that has had a dazzling makeover.

Fizzy lifting drinks, snozzberry jam, chocolate swudge milkshake mixed by waterfall –all tantalisingly tremendous items inspired by Roald Dahl’s iconic story.

In the heart of London’s theatreland, you can find a wonderful taste of Willy Wonka’s factory. Feast on scrumptious savouries such as our not-quite-as-it-seems macaron and classic Coronation chicken. Journey on for fabulously fluffy floss and a box stacked high with wondrous cakes, sweets, mallows and creams. If you find this thirsty work, wash it down with chocolate or lemon sherbet tea, Juicing Room mix, water pistol punch cocktails, or fizzy lifting Champagne - spot on for spectacular special occasions or simply an indulgent afternoon immersed in one of the tastiest tales ever told.

We arrived with high expectations and were immediately met with outstanding and attentive service, which truly lifted the start of the experience. The sweet treats were delightful, with a lovely taste and a beautiful touch that showed care and creativity. However, the rest of the experience fell short. The first savory serving, especially the toast, was a real disappointment and did not live up to what was promised or expected. The ambience and decor, intended to create a “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” atmosphere, felt unfinished and lacked the magical, immersive feel we had hoped for. Considering the high price point, the overall experience unfortunately did not match the value. Massive praise to the staff – they were the highlight of the visit – but the place has a lot of untapped potential that still needs to be realized.

Food was good. Service was mostly good- sometimes a little slow but we weren’t in a hurry.

First … despite the price and the fact there is a cocktails option this is a kids restaurant. There’s a Charlie and the chocolate factory theme but thats just a facade for charging very high prices for very simple kids food. A few small finger sandwiches and a couple of scones with cream and jam and a final mini desserts make up this mean that will set you back 70-85 GBP. It would be expensive at half that price so the theme seems to allow the excessive pricing. There’s better ways to enthral your children.

The food wasn't great they need to have more options you don't get any you just get given a set one and we didn't like half the sandwich fillings also the kid deserts are not very kiddie the only thing my girl likes was the candy floss. Also the theme is not very charlie and the chocolate factory it just feels like you are in a normal restaurant they should have some themed music and maybe pictures or something. Very disappointed.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience and were very well looked after by our server and the wider team. The food was excellent and the leftovers were beautifully boxed up for us to take home. Will throughly recommend to all our friends. Thank you!

My least favourite out of the Afternoon Tea's I have booked. The staff were polite and the cakes were nice however its felt cheeper and less of a special experience for a family treat. The booth and table were a little tired and the ambiance a little flat, not an immersive experience for a child. The service felt standard; not receiving much table attention, clearing of plates/ table settings and not being asked if we wanted more cakes, teas or drinks. Unfortunately being given the bill placed on our table without checking if we had finished or wanted something else. A £250 bill, a 90 minute experience, it lacked the class and attentiveness of eating out somewhere special, after getting dressed up and excited for a Afternoon Tea in a London restaurant :(

This was our first time attending the Charlie and the Chocolate factory afternoon tea experience. We were unfortunately seated at a very small table (single table for 3 people) this made the whole experience feel cramped. When our tea was served we felt rushed to finish, as our teas were being taken away quickly to clear the table; a problem that could have been avoided if we were seated at a bigger table. The sandwiches and scones were okay but the desserts were not to our taste. The waiters were very good with our autistic boy. We probably won’t be coming here again as it was very overpriced for what it was.
