   I am a Thai food connoisseur, and can I tell you that this place was absolutely Ah-MAZING!!! In every way, Chalong went above and beyond—the food was absolutely delish, the cocktail magnificent, the staff was kind and accommodating, and clientele was a broad spectrum of NYC. What an absolute gem! Literally could NOT stop raving about the place. Southern Thai is my new favorite, who knew…❤️

   Not just a good restaurant for the theater district, which if you know the nyc, that’s a win already, but worth traveling from every borough to. Thai food is typically ordered by white people watching Love is Blind, and comes in a plastic container, but for people that want to expand their exploration into more than that Chalong is the place to go. The dishes are flavorful, inventive, and come out fast. Don’t come actually, because I want a table next time I’m in the area.

   An outstanding restaurant with an off-the-well-worn-path selection of dishes. You won't see these in most other Thai restaurants. Don't let the waitstaff scare you off the dishes marked with two and three hot chilis. The three-chili dish definitely has some fire to it but it's not nearly as scorching as the spicy dishes you get in Thailand. We were a party of four -- everything was flavorful, colorful, delicious.

   The food was quite good, especially the starters, which stood out more than the mains. Unfortunately, the experience was less enjoyable – we booked for 9:00 PM, but by 9:15 the kitchen had already closed, so we couldn’t order dessert. The waiter was a bit pushy, repeatedly asking us to order and placing the bill on the table after about an hour without us asking. Overall, not the most pleasant atmosphere despite the good food.

   Warm and friendly atmosphere invited me to wait at the bar while my friend arrived. They introduced me to the menu, and everything felt seamless and genuine. The food was wonderful.
