Bordeaux & Bordeaux-Style Blends (& Then Some)
In Bordeaux, a wine–grape grower grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec & Merlot. A bottle of red Bordeaux will be a blend of just those five. Sometimes just two of them. Or three. No matter. They are grown in Bordeaux. The wine is red and occasionally; divine (there are additionally rankings but we lack time & space for that wine cat chat). In literally–brained USA we prefer to KNOW exactly WHICH grape and in what proportions are in the bottle so we can predict in advance our opinion of said wine. Boo. Time tells us to trust our instincts. Don't read the ending. Just breathe a wine in, take a sip, wait, do it again. Below are some rock star red Bordeaux wines, but more interestingly are "domestic" versions. A blend called a Meritage (a U.S. invention, a hybrid of the word "merit" and "heritage" and pronounced that way) is the U.S. equivalent of a red Bordeaux except with the intention of being a superb example of its kind. What follows are red Bordeaux (blends) and Meritages and a few very delicious odd–balls that have almost followed suit but have rebelled just a little by tossing something unexpected in the pot

We had such a lovely lunch! It was my birthday and I felt really special eating there. Our waitress was so attentive and kept me supplied with cherries for my coke, which was such a treat for me. The dessert was quite delicious as well. I loved the ambiance and can't wait for a romantic evening with my honey!¿Te fue útil?

We had a lovely time - celebrated my dad's 87th Birthday. Food was delicious. Staff was attentive and sweet - I think they had to re-do my dad's special dessert the grandkids had called in and ordered because he selected a creme brulee instead of the chocolate cake. They were super easy to work with (my daughter-in-law had called to make the arrangements for the cake and to pick up the tab and there was no problem. At first I was bummed that they moved from their downtown Albany location but this new space is working well.¿Te fue útil?

Decent venue, I preferred the old one downtown, however. This one needs some deeper cleaning. We were seated in a window seat, (nice) but greeted by a nasty spider web full of dead flies under it- yuck! Food was okay- better before the new fancy Chef, imo.¿Te fue útil?
