   The experience was pleasant overall but there were some big misses. I happen to have enjoyed each of my items off if the pre fixe menu, but I was with a group and several at the table had disappointments. Two steaks were not cooked to order, and those who had the Crème brûlée complained that it wasn’t up to par (a restaurant billing itself as a french bistro should be able to make that dessert to perfection!). The service was pleasant enough early on but then went downhill as we had to ask repeatedly for our check despite the restaurant being nearly empty at that point. The place has some positive things going for it, but there’s significant room for improvement. As noted in other reviews, there’s a cold feeling and doesn’t feel like a french bistro at all.

   We love having catch French Bistro in our neighborhood ! While it does attract many visitors from outside the Castro and San Francisco, it is a wonderful local favorite ! We go a few times a month ! It is always an amazing experience! The food, ambiance, live music and especially the warm , friendly and welcoming crew make it a comforting familiar feeling! Wonderful place that we always bring out of town guests ! Definitely recommend !

   My friend and I had a reservation but then decided to sit at the bar for the ambience . It was wonderful . There was a keyboard artist seeing jazz songs from the 40s and 50s . Amazing! The chicken with potatoes! Delicious!!

   As always, the food is excellent. But especially the service: our waiter (Alberto) has been working at Catch for many years and his warmth and kindness and skill as a waiter are unparalleled. Even when Alberto isn't there, the service is excellent.

   We were seated promptly and got to choose the location. They have an area with a burning fireplace. Waiter was pleasant and h helpful The four of us all chose their full dinner fixed price menu which had a very decent number of choices. We all felt it was a good value. I was personally a little disappointed with the fish I chose, but I am not a big fish person. One of us chose the filet mignon but was surprised that it was a tough as it was. It was a birthday celebration but we did not order alcohol. Non drinkers. I would go back but might try another entre selection. My fried calamari was good, and the dessert was very good. One of our group really liked the salad. Try it out sometime.

    Catch is a go-to seafood place for me. Always a delight seated by the fire in front. Food always good.
