   The greeter seemed surly and unwelcoming - almost as if we were troubling him to have shown up. The food was ok but not worth that kind of welcome. It was especially puzzling for there was a period of time when we were the ONLY ones even in the place.

   Our experience at Casa Vicenzo was disappointing. After having heard good reports from others and seeing a better than average rating here on Open Table I was eager to experience the place. Casa Vicenzo is in the location of the old Buona Vida on Pier Avenue in Hermosa Beach, which after my last visit before its closing I had vowed to never return. The location is PRIME and restaurants in the area are typically very good and desirable to attend. My party attended on a Monday evening, which probably spoke at least somewhat to how incredibly slow things were that night and why the restaurant offers free corkage on Mondays, but for an evening with only 3 or 4 tables of customers, the service was only average. I found the menu to be on the skimpy side, which is sometimes the case in Pier Avenue restaurants as they focus on doing fewer items extremely well as opposed to those restaurants that offer pages of dishes served that are served only average in all ways. I ordered the Pork chop, which our waiter indicated was his favorite. Hearing this I was encouraged, but upon receiving my plate I found a decent pork chop served on top of garlic mashed potatoes and covered with white gravy. The dish seemed more southern breakfast than Italian fare. Others ordered seafood & pasta dishes that they indicated were good, but no one raved about any of them. For dessert the table shared Casa Vicenza's version of Tiramisu which arrived in a sealing jar, but which tasted great and was the highlight of the meal.

   Terribly bland food. Pork chop and pasta over cooked. Wanted to give it a try since I’m a local but it was just bad. I won’t be back.

   Delicious sauce served with the calamari - hint of chipotle. Kind and welcoming staff - excellent service. Nice nutmeg flavor on the meaty lasagna. Good price and a good vibe. Will definitely be a casual date night or family dinner local favorite of ours going forward.

   Best food in South Bay. Good service very attentive and the owners are so friendly. Overall amazing . I highly recommend

   Good food but owner/waiter is disorganized which made for a stressful dining experience. Professional mgt and wait staff is seriously needed.

    What a gem of a restaurant! Quaint spot in Hermosa with authentic Italian food. Is in the old Bona Vita space (which we loved) - and this new place did not disappoint. Owner was very welcoming - visiting our table with a glass of champagne for each of us - telling us his story of how Casa Vincenzo came to be. Highly recommend!
