   I was so upset with Caprain Don's. When they are running correctly the food and service is great. However, on Saturday I called to make reservations. There was no answer. The answering machine said to make reservations on their FB site. I went to the site, saw the restaurant was open - per FB. I set my reservations for myself my husband and my daughter. I live 45 mins away. When I arrived the parking lot was empty and the restaurant was closed!!!! This was a saturday night at 7pm. I never received a message in response to my reservation or an apology. I will NEVER waist my gas to go there again. I enjoyed dinner at Red Lobster with my family. A restaurant you can count on!

   They were closed and so we were left on New Year's Eve with no reservation at 7:00 p.m. at night.

   I made reservations to take my mother n sister for their birthdays drove there from York only to find a faded note on the door saying we are closed due to inclement weather. They should really put that on the website or on the answering machine since it was nothing wrong with the weather!! Very angry!

   Our first visit to captin dons seafood turned out to be short lived, after driving over an hour to celebrate my husbands birthday we discovered the restaurant was closed! Their Facebook page, phone answering service and online reservation system all said they should have been opened. I called the restaurant the next day during what should have been open business hours according to the sign on the door but no one answered. At this time my phone messages and facebook messages have gone unanswered and my husbands birthday turned out to be a very disappointing day for him because he was really looking forward to their seafood buffet but had to settle for less then good Chinese food.

   We went there for my wife's birthday and everything was awesome the service was out of this world the food is always excellent we've been there more than five times and never had a complaint

   The lobster roll was imitation lobster and the bread was falling apart, crab cakes were bland and the fries were soggy. I would go again but try something else.

   Was there on Friday evening two weeks ago and it has gone down hill significantly from a year ago. 6:30 in a Friday and no one was there. Should have been my first clue. Service was the worst to non existent. We ordered the ayce and were lucky to get on tray of food and the orders were all wrong. Even the restroom had no paper towels in it on a Friday night with no customers. Ownership must have changed because that was not the case a year ago. Will. Or go back, will not recommend to friends and it is sad because it was a great place to meet family and friends and crack some crab.

    The first time we visited Captain Don's it was very good. This time it was less than stellar for sure. We went with a table of 8 people, and 6 out of the 8 plates of food were burned. Beer battered fish was almost black, and even the French fries were burnt. While we were there, almost no other customers in the restaurant, and we had to wait for tartar sauce, which was "being made", after we got our food. The server was very friendly and attentive, but she was also on as the bartender, which proved to be problematic. The man who seemed as though he was the manager on duty that day, spent his time sitting at a table in the back with headphones on, instead of helping our server. I'm not sure at this point if we will try again. I want to believe this was just an off day.
