Traditional meets modern in this new age Caribbean cuisine restaurant brought you by Chef Tavel Bristol-Joseph of E&R Hospitality Group.

Named after the Canje pheasant, national bird of Guyana, Canje pulls inspiration not just from mainland Guyana, but from Jamaica to Puerto Rico, and all the islands in between. Our menu explores the cooking techniques, ingredients, and many expressions of vibrant food across the region.

Tucked away on the east side of Austin, this lively environment brings a unique cocktail program boasting both spirit forward and fruit driven cocktails and a small selection of natural wines alongside our inventive food menu.

    First time in Austin and first restaurant my dad and I went to. This restaurant was recommended by a friend and it was absolutely delicious! We got the Plantain chips as our appetizer and it was so good, the sauces the come with it are incredible! I ordered the sauces to go and they gave me extra of the green sauce because it was my favorite one. Then for main my dad got the West Indian curry with the pepper rice as his side and I got the WildBoar pepper pot with the roti as my side. The flavors each plate had was amazing!! Everything from the service to the food was 10/10! Highly recommend! Wish I lived here so I could go back regularly.

    I enjoy eating at Canje never a bad meal. My only complaint this time around is the dinner lightning was way too dim to even clearly read the menu, can’t say I’ve had that issues during my previous visits.

    The food is exquisite and is as tasty as it is beautiful. The cocktails are perfectly balanced The whole restaurant is a vibe. Can’t wait to go again!

    Had a business/girlfriend dinner at Canje. When they first opened, the music was super loud. Tonight, it was a great background vibe. So let's talk about the food! - The new pepper fish dish is a must have. Absolutely delicious. - The waygu skewers are a delicious - The pink pineapple - whatever they put in that sauce is a spiritual experience - ROTI! ROTI! ROTI! ROTI! - The rice is soooo soooo good. - The curry was good, but just a tad salty. Always have a great experience of customer service when there and tonight was no different. Go to Canje!

    Delicious as usual! We had friends in town from California and it was a fabulous experience to be able to share one of our favorite restaurants with them.

    My friends and I had a great experience from the ambience to the service everything was perfect. I am someone who was raised in a Jamaican household. The food that was served looked very different, but the flavors felt like home .
