   I have dined at Can Can for years and its quality has taken a disappointing down turn. The bouillabaisse was over salted and lacking in fish. We paid for a bread basket and when I asked for the rye to be added to our basket, was told I’d have to pay extra for it. The general ambience has changed with the change in ownership. Very sad to see.

   The oysters were wonderful, but the I had to ask the server where they were from and when I ordered, he didn’t ask which I wanted, so I had to specify- also he didn’t know beyond a general region, which is unusual. Drinks were excellent when they finally came. Truffled Caesar salad was a disappointment. A few whole romaine leaves with 5 croutons that were nothing special and one small anchovy. Not overdressed which was nice, but not even a hint of anything “truffle”. Mouse Frites were excellent. Plump mussels and nice frites, generous portion of both.

   Our server was perfect ... very service-oriented and pleasant. Loved the beet salad with crispy oysters!

   The brunch food choices were excellent The food, drinks and desert were great Service was prompt and very attentive

   My husband and I have frequented Can Can Brasserie for a number of years and we were having friends from California coming in to spend Easter with us. I specifically picked one of my favorite restaurants to celebrate Easter with them. I was surprised I did not recognize anyone member of Staff I’ve seen before. Could it be you had new staff members on Easter Sunday? Whatever the case may be, I was not overly impressed with Service. All was fine when the appetizers came. But then it was very odd to receive our main course when the appetizer dishes had NOT been removed beforehand. Moreover, we your customers had to pick the dishes up and hand them to your Staff. Holly is a lovely young gal who was our server, but when my friend asked her if he could upgrade his included soup option to a larger bowl, she said, she did not think it would be a problem but she would ask the Chef. Apparently she did ask the Chef and the answer was NO. The problem is, she didn’t bother to inform our friend, so when the bill came, he was charged not $6 dollars but the up charge of I believe $15. She figured giving him some free pastries would suffice. When I made this reservation I also asked to have some pastries set aside for our table so we could indulge in them at the end of our Brunch with coffee. It was our first time trying out the pastries that we have heard about and read about but had not tried yet. Unfortunately, again, when the coffee and pastries arrived, none of the dishes were cleared again from our table. Your staff began to clear them but had not finished. So I took care to remove the remaining dishes to the table next to us. Needless to say, we were extremely disappointed in the Service that we have come to enjoy many times at Can Can Brasserie. This one incident will not deter us but it should awaken your leadership to perhaps rework or revise the training given to Servers for the future. Please accept these comments as constructive criticism.

   Great staff. Nice place but it does get noisy. The negative aspects of our experience were not uncommon to any other restaurant (communication about order, out of menu items, etc) but I’d honestly have to go more than once to assume it wasn’t a fluke. I didn’t meet an unfriendly staff member from start to finish which made the experience pleasant. Food was pricey for what it was but the menu is available online so it’s on you to decide if you see value before walking in. Overall I’d try it again perhaps one day.

   Loved our server Liam Engaging knew the menu Staff could be trained not to stack plates on table in front of guest Saw several waitiors doing it!! 😵‍💫😵‍💫

   Our server, Macy was outstanding & quite eager to please, as was the Manager on duty during our meal. However, after coming to this restaurant for over 15 years, we found the quality & preparation of the food frankly disappointing. We hope this veritable Richmond mainstay improves for all who remember the former culinary experience.

    Great spot for lunch in Carytown. Food was great and service from Olikani(?) was excellent
