About this restaurant

In order to satisfy cravings for hometown cuisine, a family from Calexico, a small border town in Southern California, established a street cart selling tacos and burritos on a sidewalk in SoHo. Years later Calexico is a Mexican restaurant that has been featured on several cooking shows and in a variety of publications. Guests at Calexico can savor nachos, guacamole, crispy Brussels sprouts and other appetizers while main courses are being prepared. Entr�e options range from chipotle pork and chicken mole tacos to pollo asado and Baja fish burritos and burrito bowls. Vegetarian patrons can order black bean burritos and grilled tofu tacos. Steak or chicken fajitas, chicken or vegetable enchiladas and a selection of quesadillas are on the menu as well. Calexico also caters to events by serving a taco bar for parties of 20 and more people or a burrito box for groups of 10.
