   The food was fabulous. The service excellent. I like the atmosphere. Albeit I am someone who is not really into loud music. I just happened to be sitting right by the loudspeaker for the boom box. The music was ok, but I like peace and quiet when I eat. However, aside from my liking quieter surroundings, I found the staff to be very accommodating, very customer oriented. The food was prepared with great flavors. Exceptional portions. The ambiance was very colorful, cheerful and welcoming. I think Cafe Con Leche is a hit if not a total winner. I will recommend this restaurant to everybody I meet. Keep up the great Puerto Rican comfort food cooking!!

   Almost nothing will prepare you for the size of the portions! If you order the appetizer sampler, plan to either share it at least 3 ways or to have it for your meal. Deep frying is a great strength of the kitchen. It is greaseless, making the yucca fries not-to-be-missed and pastelillos special. Pernil is delicious, but mofongo was a disappointment. While the flavor was good, it was rendered texturally leaden by being precooked and reheated. The accompanying sauce was nearly tasteless. Staff is friendly yet not intrusive or overly familiar. Service is good, though our server didn’t know details about the mofongo, a key menu item. Installation of a rail(s) alongside both the outside and indoor steps would be very helpful. I’m looking forward to going back and trying a Cubano!

   It was authentic enough. The alcapurrias were delicious. The yucca fries were also tasty. The meat in the pastelillos was a little cool. The platains in the center of the mofongo should have been grounded up a bit smaller. The pernil was very good. I was not impressed with the arroz con gandules. It was obviously prepared well in advance . Also,the flavor was not exactly right. (Haven eaten this food all my life, I know what I am talking about. )Front of the house staff- one waitress seemed to know what she was doing, the other seemed, of the other two need more training. (Go to the culinary various times, observe and get it right.) If I am being critical, it is because I want Cafe Con Leche to succeed. We need you in the Hudson Valley. We need your voice and you need to represent Puerto Rico well. Get a reservation folks. It still has some very good things going for it. Last point- don't blast the music. People actually want to hear each other at dinner conversations.

   I am so proud to have a Puerto Rican restaurant in my neighborhood. The food was fabulous and the owners are genuinely warm and inviting. I felt as if I was in my grandmother's house eating. The display of family pictures feels as if you are visiting a relative instead of a restaurant. I wish Figaro and Melody the best of luck.

   We wanted a shrimp dish but was told they couldn’t contaminate the fryer for customers with allergies so we’d have to pick something else. We had beef and Pernil Pastelillos. Everything was a little too salty. No liquor license yet.,

    The food is as authentic as can be. It's a small place so be sure to make a reservation on the weekends. There is no liquor license at this time.
