   Strange experience overall… will assume that they were short staffed, hence our hostess poured out water, service was painfully slow etc. Slow service is completely understandable given the e labor shortage however wrong orders for the entire table of course is not. The entire group of four ordered the burger, which is we’ll reviewed here. But unfortunately every single one was prepared incorrectly, all were overcooked that the taste of the burger was lacking. And given the slow service to get our burgers- none of us wanted to send our dish back because it might take another 45 minutes + for a new entree to arrive. On top of this the staff was just miserable… one could not be more expressionless than the other. Sad as I’ve heard great things … but this was definitely not.

   The atmosphere was wonderful. The small plates were delicious. The entree's were very small portions for the price. The small plates were bigger portions then the entree's. The curry lamb stew was very bland, but good quality otherwise and the NY Strip steak was delicious and seasoned great, but again for the price all you got was steak no sides. The chocolate cake for dessert was good but the butterscotch pudding was very grainy and outrageously sweet. The staff and the atmosphere were wonderful.

   Butterfield made a great evening to ring in the new year! Every member of the staff was so nice and welcoming. They worked really hard and did a great job!

   Lobster bisque - undercooked veggies, bland, almost as if we got an undercooked batch after running out Risotto was standard at best Filet was good, and desserts ok Server couldn’t wait to be done with her shift - short and kinda rude Expected more because of previous visits.    Wonderful as it always is. We enjoyed the Squid Ink Pasta, Wild Striped Bass, Kale Salad & Tuna Crudo Tacos for our dinner. Molten Chocolate Cake and Butterscotch Sundae for dessert. Always a treat to eat here!

   I have always loved Butterfield, but sadly the quality of the food has only gone down in the last few years. My first few visits left me raving about the service, ambiance, and delicious food, but the last few times have been borderline disappointing. The ambiance is still incredible, but the service has slightly declined; waiting for water for too long, server saying they’ll bring more bread and never do, etc. However, the most disappointing aspect is the decline in food quality. They say their menu changes every day, but it doesn’t change that drastically and the dishes don’t feel very inspired. Last night there was no vegan option available for an entree for a guest of mine (they usually have at least one), and the rest of the food was bland and unexciting. I’ll give Butterfield one more shot because I love the atmosphere, but if it continues to decline, I can’t justify the paying that much money for food that isn’t satisfying.
