   We walked in without a reservation and they did not want to sit us for dinner. I came to open table and made a reservation for the next available time and they made us wait 15 minutes after the time I reserved a table for. The food took at least 45 minutes to come out. One person in our group was not happy about the way his steak was cooked. Not a good experience at this restaurant.

   We came for a meal after an afternoon visit to the theatre, on a Sunday in the run up to Christmas. There were several groups of diners so it was quite noisy. I had the Sunday roast, which in hindsight was probably a mistake - whilst the beef was delicious the vegetables tasted old, as if they’d been sitting around for hours so very disappointing. My friend chose the salmon which, to be fair, she enjoyed and both our desserts were fine. No complaints about the staff, they were all very helpful and friendly although the service was very slow.

   An enjoyable visit to Browns with friends Staff were friendly and attentive The place is classy serving great food and drinks My only complaint would be that there were quite a few things sold out on the menu. It was a Monday evening when we visited for a pre theatre meal. There were plenty of other things to choose but it does dull the experience. Overall a lovely time had by all

   Was booked for a birthday meal so was hoping for something a bit special, but was very disappointed. The main course took over an hour and a half to come out with no explanation. People were walking out around us! Food was nothing special and overpriced.

   We usually have a very good experience here but today not so. The food was not very hot but as we were all on a tight schedule, and hungry we ate it. It was tasty but cold. I also thought rather expensive for what it was

   Generally good meals and service Not happy that 10% service is already on bill (says its optional in small print) it would be better leaving off and therefore up to individuals if a tip is left

   As usual Browns was efficient, welcoming and comfortable. Layout is a bit 'old-fashioned' and not flashy or modern but that suits me. The menu and wine list are short but have well-chosen items. Food arrives promptly, hot and well served. We discovered that the more expensive wines (£50 upward) may not be in stock but we were given a good alternative. Reliable choice in central Sheffield

    Had an enjoyable meal with a group of 6 celebrating our sons graduation. Good service and food.
