   Only two tables, with us being one, and we had to beg for service. Weirdest afternoon tea options I've ever seen.

   The high tea was nice, but we went in the afternoon on a Sunday and the place was empty. It just didn’t feel very special compared to other high tea I’ve been to.

   Great customer service. Food was very good. I now love clotted cream. Will return to try other menu items.

   A complete disappointment! Arrived at 11:45 am for our reservation. Sat down and waited 10 minutes for menus, 25 for coffee and 35 for our order to be taken. Then another 30 minutes for our food. Two of the three items were cold. We did not send them back because we couldn't wait another 30 minutes for replacements. My eggs were burnt on the bottom and barely eatable. To add insult to injury, they had the nerve to charge us a 15% "service" fee for the lack of service we received. UPDATE: BORC has reached out to us in an effort to take ownership of our bad experience and ask us to give them a second chance. They were very professional and sincere. Based on that, we will give them another go and post our experience. Everyone has bad days.

   I found this place just browsing online and it looked intriguing. My wife and I were heading downtown later that evening to see Hamilton and we decided to do a late lunch before going to see the show. We got here and the server was very nice and fun to talk with. We ended up doing their High Tea which based on price is worth it. The teas were excellent and to be fair Steven Smith Teas are normally really good. The food that was served with the High Tea was really good. There was only one type of sandwich we each didn't like but the other did. Which based on what they gave us isn't too bad. I believe it was the Chef who came out and gave us our food and did a really fantastic job answering any of our questions about the food she had prepared for us. I will be coming back for the regular menu, because based on what I tried on the High Tea Menu I think this will be a great place for a meal.

   We came for Easter brunch with family and loved it. The cinnamon brioche French toast, gingerbread pancakes and sausage and beans were delicious. The bacon and eggs cooked perfectly and the coffee tasty and hot. The rest of the baked goods looked awesome. This is a great place to have brunch, bring your laptop to get some work done or have some good food and drinks with friends!

   Disappointed in my "full english" because it didn't have rashers or bangers - substituted with an American style breakfast sausage. It did have black pudding, so that was tasty, but the whole thing was just...meh. I don't know, maybe "meh" English food is the way to do English food authentically? Also, one of our party didn't get his food long after we'd all been served, and then there were like, all kinds of questions about ..."we're out of this, would you like that instead?" I don't get what that was about. Something also went awry with the service - the server, who was alone on the floor, was only on his 2nd day working at the restaurant. I don't blame him for scrambling around all morning, but someone needed to be there helping/training him. I want to like this place. I like British food. But you guys have to UP YOUR GAME. You should NOT be empty for Sunday brunch in Portland. That means something's gone very wrong.

    I really wanted to like it but this may be the worst service I have ever received. Our server seemed to have never seen the menu, forgot half of our order, could not communicate with the kitchen so the chef had to come out and clarify what was missing, dropped food, let dirty plates sit in front of us for a LONG time, etc. It was actually quite remarkable and would have been frustrating if we hadn't felt so damned sorry for her. Please train your staff. Even if your food had been amazing (which it wasn't) we would not return because the absolute chaos of your service made us actually question the cleanliness and professionalism in your kitchen.
