About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Lively
  • Neighborhood gem
Bricco’s star has been rising steadily since restaurateur Frank DePasquale revamped the menu to feature modern interpretations of regional Italian dishes.

Bricco has garnished superlative reviews from food writers in Boston and around the country – Best Guaranteed Meal in the North End and Best Pasta in Boston just two of the most recent accolades.

The talented kitchen team creates “boutique” Italian food, so-called because it is unique, personal and created for a select and sophisticated diner. The food is complemented by an enoteca (wine bar) with an exceptional selection of all-Italian wines.

Bricco also offers a sophisticated late night scene. The chic and energetic bar serves up great one of a kind cocktails as well as brick oven pizza with gourmet toppings such as prosciutto and fresh mozzarella from Italy in addition with appetizer selections.

Overall a middle of the road experience. The calamari was extremely disappointing. It was chewy and missing jalapeños. The pasta dish we got was good. The Brussels sprouts were overcooked and overly salty. The tuna tartare was nice, however, the balsamic was overpowering. The service was fine, if not on the juvenile side.

All of the food was outstanding, and we had the most excellent waiter/sommelier, Wolmar, who made all the difference! Music wasn't great, and it's on the first floor open to Hanover, so it was a little hard to hear everyone at the table. But Wolmar and the food made up for it!

We had a wonderful dinner at Bricco during our stay in Boston. We got there before the rush, but an hour later it was packed! Our server was phenomenal! He gave us great appetizer and main course suggestions. My husband enjoyed their signature espresso martini drink and it did not disappoint! Our table had filet, aged ribeye, and sea bass main courses, all of which were delicious. Try the zucchini flowers- one of a kind! Great atmosphere, service and food! Highly recommend.

Very slow meal service. Asked for “tap water” got charged $10/bottle for water. The smallest portions of pasta ever. Went to another restaurant to “eat!” Will not return.

We enjoyed the Risotto pillows and Wild Boar bolongese. Both were delicious. Their espresso martini is also amazing.

Food is hit or miss, meatballs, eggplant and pasta were bland. Shrimp and pork shank were great.

Met all expectations and recommendations. Really nice old school Italian restaurant with elevated fresh Pasta dishes, combined with excellent service and ambience. The mussels were spicy with a broth that called for extra fresh baked bread. Salmon cooked perfectly with crispy skin. The Lobster and Butterfly pasta was world class. Don’t sleep on house bread pudding with caramelized sugar and banana topping . Every bite delicious !

The food really was a letdown. Duck was all soy sauce, lobster bordetto had no flavor, and the carpaccio and tartar were soaked in lemon. I was baffled by the drop in quality. Service was great
