   24 hours later and I’m still in complete awe of the presentation of food and incredible flavors. So many obscure ingredients I’d never heard of like sunflower heart! The attention to detail was next level. The hospitality was wonderful and we can’t wait to return soon! Can’t recommend enough you visit bread and friends for dinner soon! As always, Jess and Nicole are the absolute sweetest! Thank you guys!

   This was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. The food was wonderfully complex with unique flavor combinations. Wonderful use of local ingredients. We had two pasta dishes and both were so good we couldn’t choose a favorite. The pork chop was the best I have ever eaten…yes, I picked up the bone and gnawed on it. The sauce was so good I could have licked the plate. Service was beyond excellent The decor was fresh and fun The prices were below what you would expect for this quality I just cannot recommend Bread and Friends enough Just go!!

   Incredible food! The flavors surprise and tickle your tastebuds. My husband couldn’t stop raving about the short ribs. I had the Maine cod which was beautifully prepared. Service is stellar! And if you’ve not been here for breakfast- do come. I still dream of the soft scrambled eggs.

   Outstanding dining at Bread and Friends! The chef has a real talent at combining interesting ingredients. He came to the table to explain how each dish was created. Every one of them was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was excellent. One of the best restaurants in Portland. Thank you!

   I can’t wait to break bread with all of my Maine friends at this extraordinary new secret in Portland! I do not remember the last time I uttered the words “mmm mmm mmm” so much over every bite of every course. We were going to walk up the street for gelato for dessert & decided that their French Toast a la mode needed to complete our divine dining experience. Major kudos too to our server who so poetically described each item on the menu. She and the other servers and the owner, Jeremy added so much to our evening. So grateful! We will be back!

   the overall would have been a 5, but the tables for two on the left side are pretty cramped and you are in on all conversations. The food was unique and very good, service was very good, place is small.

   Our first time here for dinner was a pleasant surprise & a delicious experience. I had the very refreshing lemonade while spouse had a beer. My seared cod with grilled cabbage was among the best meals I’ve ever had in Portland! The sauce was so tasty, size was a reasonable portion, the grilled cabbage was unexpected, & the fish was tender & flaky. Spouse raved about the lobster pasta. Highly recommend.

    Probably the best meal we’ve had in a long time. Excellent food that was both delicious and beautifully presented. 10/10 recommend.
