   I had a reservation with Braven on Friday, April 11, 2025 for six (6) people at 8:30pm. I have been to the restaurant many times before, and I love the food, ambience, and service. On this specific day, I was entertaining a corporate client from Vancouver. I wanted to share that I was extremely dissatisfied with the service. Our server did not attend to us for 10-15 minutes to take our drink order after we were seated, and then the drinks did not arrive for an additional 10-15 minutes after that. I let one of the other staff members there know, as we could not locate our server, that service was quite slow. When we ordered dinner, we were debating between two different steaks, and I specifically asked to order only one; however, the server brought out two. The tomahawk steak was supposed to be cooked medium rare, and came out blue rare. The food was largely cold, and everyone on the table felt the same about the service and the food quality. I asked the server for finishing salt, which they usually bring out in a small bowl which you can sprinkle on your steak; however, he brought out a salt grinder and left it on the table. The final bill was $1008.26. I was expecting a bill in the $800-$1000 for this evening, this is not what upset me; however, the service, timing, and quality of the food was poor. I hope this feedback is shared with the server from this evening, as it left me feeling quite upset and unlikely to return.

   The food was amazing. Pork chop was cooked to perfection. Mashed potatoes were the best we’ve ever had. Steak was juicy and tender. Wagyu is like butter. Soooo good!

   Food was good. The house music was so loud we could barely carry on a conversation. Also the addition of tvs in the restaurant made it feel more lounge like than high end restaurant. The service was slow. I would say Braven was like an over priced Joeys. Very disappointed since our last visit a couple years ago which was more like the high end restaurant it’s presented as. Will not go back.

   We chose Braven to celebrate a birthday and made a reservation in advance. Despite informing them of a slight delay, we still had to wait about 10 minutes for our table to be prepared upon arrival. I ordered an Aperol Spritz, but the cocktail was not as expected – the taste was very weak, and the drink lacked the bright freshness that you usually expect from it. The food was no better: my boyfriend’s burger was so disappointing that he only ate the fries, and the meat was completely flavorless. My pork was tough, with fatty streaks – I had to literally chew through it. My brother’s pasta had dry, tough chicken, although the pasta itself was tasty. In the end, everything was so disappointing that we lost the desire to order dessert, and our mood was already spoiled. When it came time to pay, the waiter rudely asked why we hadn’t left a tip. It was extremely unprofessional and unpleasant. We expected a much higher level of service and food quality from a restaurant of this caliber, but unfortunately, Braven let us down.

   We’ve eaten here before and always found the experience top notch but on this visit happened to order 2x identical New York’s but found them to be quite different and each below our expectations indifferent ways (one overly charred and the other perfectly charred but under seasoned). Wouldn’t normally object but in the realm of high end steak houses you do expect high end consistency in their steaks

   Very pricey for what you get. Food was alright, for the price expectations were very high. Parking was difficult, very noisy, service was good.

   The restaurant had a great atmosphere and was cool decor. But we found the portions to be small, in particular the scallops were $30 for three small scallops and the flavour was bland. Also the pressed sushi was bland and it had too much rice.

    Lisa's level of service was friendly and professional as usual. I have dinned at Braven at least 10 times this hockey season. It is my go to place for clients and friends before hockey games. Good job by all! Much appreciated. We shall see you soon again . Thanks DG
