It was Easter Sunday. All restaurants have to brace themselves for a crush of guests on major holidays. Service was a bit slow, but as long as people understood this going into it, it was fine. In my own case, it was fine because it allowed for plenty of good conversation With my guest. The food itself was up to standards. We also were able to dine on the side terrace, which is quite nice, because it was Avery pleasant mild day outside.

A perfect bistro for classic French dishes without having to cross the Atlantic. Our Easter Brunch was relaxing and delicious. Seated in the Fabrege Egg booth was a bonus. Looking forward to our next meal here.

The 20% “service charge” that doesn’t go to the server ruined our experience. It’s on the menu…we get it…it was disclosed. But we genuinely thought it was just baked in because this restaurant is close to a college campus and maybe they want to make sure the waitstaff doesn’t get stiffed? Nope. Our server assured us the 20% goes “to the house” and that their only tip is 2% of the bill from that amount. So of course we felt compelled to tip them! I served when I was younger too! Now I’m tipping 40% of the bill plus tax? That just made this one of the most expensive meals I’ve had in DC. It was so uncomfortable at the end of our meal as our group argued over how to handle this. It ruined the experience.

Service was horrible. After 30 minutes no one took our drink order yet. After 45 minutes no one took our food order. We were basically invisible. Ordered 2 soups and 3 entrees. The 2 soups came out with a dinner entree for the 3rd person. Who does that? I would have sent back but our waiter was so unfriendly I thought he might do something to it. He looked miserable all night. Of course since 20% is added to every bill automatically there is no incentive for them to please the customer. Food was ok. Nothing special. Don't understand how it draws people. It was very crowded.

My husband and I were in Georgetown for the day and decided to try this restaurant. They were very accommodating to changing our outside reservation to an inside table as it was a very windy evening. Our server Adam was top notch! He was super busy but never let us wait for anything. He refilled drinks quickly and chatted with us a bit. The food was outstanding! We shared the French onion soup and it was soooo good! We each ordered the steak frites and loved every bite of the steak, fries and salad! I'm so happy I have leftovers to enjoy again. I had a French 75 and it was also delicious! You can't go wrong with the food. The one thing that hit me a little wrong was the 20% service fee. I know restaurants are hurting but it was a very large fee to add to an already pricey bill. I also added on a 20% tip which I normally do for great service so to have the service fee was just a lot. Overall a great restaurant and we will return for a special occasion.

Excellent excellent excellent food. Our only complaint was that there is a 20% service fee for increased operational costs which is mutually exclusive of tip. This left us with a bad taste in our mouth after an exceptional meal.

One of my favourite menus - touches all the bases - the fare is delightful: good presentations and well prepared. An impressive wine carte too.
