Branca is a neighborhood Italian eatery in downtown Rochester, New York, located in Tower280. Branca honors the storied culinary history of Italy by offering simple yet flavorfully complex dishes; in short, we serve fresh and hand-crafted food that makes you feel good. Our bar showcases interpretations of classic cocktails, allowing us to share our creative process and passion, and also offers all the warm and familiar spirits we’ve come to love. Branca also features a full Italian Coffee Bar. In the vein of Old Hollywood watering holes, Branca is a home away from home for our guests: a place for family, a place for friends, and a place to be known and loved. Branca Midtown is open lunch Tuesday through Friday, and dinner Tuesday through Saturday.

My husband and I and my parents treated our college freshman daughter and her 9 new friends to dinner. The staff was super and the food was delicious. We all had a great time and we will be back.

Music was a bit loud for conversation. Requested several time to have it turned down, but someone always turned it back up!!! Food was excellent and server attentiveness was almost perfect, not too much attention

Went out to dinner for our 17th wedding anniversary and being parents of 3 kids that don't get out much I must say it was a great dinning experience. The only thing that I would say was a negative is that they ran out of the special for the night. Our food was very good.

I liked the setting - overlooking Parcel 5 (too bad they have to build something there.) straight through to the lit Liberty Pole. The tables were not close to each other and the candles gavem what I thought would be, a quiet ambiance. Then the noise took over, as the acoustics were terrible, because the ceiling is too high, and there is no fabric to absorb sound. I struggled to hear my three friends, and if there were more of us, it would have been impossible. This is a problem that can be fixed, as well as the price of a small glass of wine - $12.00. Warm bread put on the table is always impressive, but was no where to be found here. The pasta didn't come with anything - roll, salad etc.

Love Branca Midtown. Went there to celebrate my birthday and had my 2 month old baby with us. They set up a table in the private dining room to give us a little quieter spot to be!

Given the price point of the food it was not value for money. For all the hype it was substantially a glorified pizza parlor. Thus the acceptance of flannel shirts, jeans, etc. I expected business casual. The descriptors of the diner menu items seemed novel and creative. However, I had the veal and another person had the mushroom Milanese. I could do better in my own kitchen. Certainly not close to Spiaggia in Chicago except for Branca's price points. I guess when there is no real competition anything will seem exciting.

My wife and I like this place for special occasions. This was not our first visit, and it's unlikely to be our last. The food and service have been unfailingly excellent.
