   Main chef was on vacation. Food was meh. Would’ve gone somewhere else had I known limited options and mediocre food

   The food had to be returned because it was cold. Our meals did not come out together. the guacamole had large chunks of fruit in it and was not seasoned. The food was not tasty in general. Our waiter was friendly and did the best he could. The kitchen is in need of help. They should stick to serving beer.

   This was our second visit to BoxCar. Tonight we brought our daughter and grandmom for dinner. The restaurant was lively, but not crowded. Fish &chips were a hit, crispy and hot, which grandmom enjoyed. The chicken sandwich was a hit with our daughter, the foodie. The portobello mushroom sandwich was delish, the goat cheese, arugula and onion jam were packed with flavor. The burger, with portobello mushroom, bacon and cheese hit the spot. We were a little disappointed with the onion rings. They were a bit over cooked and the portion not as generous as on our first visit. My dining companions did not care for the dipping sauce. We enjoyed the special beer with mango and ginger. The vodka was also very good. We look forward to returning to this local establishment. 😊

   The food was really good and they pride themselves on their beer. I had an excellent English ale. I will definitely return to sample more of both their food and beer menu.

   First time here. It was OK but nothing special. Food was pretty good, service was fine. Beer was very good. But the ambiance was kind of funky. To be fair the first floor room was closed for a private party the night I was there. The public was directed upstairs to a room that seem to have few windows if any. I was like being in someones attic with poor lighting. It didn't come across very well. I might try it again but I am not in any rush. There are just to many other better places in West Chester.

   My sister and I took out dad here before a show at the local theater to celebrate his birthday. We each had amazing meals and loved the house made chips, onion rings, burger with mac and cheese and bacon, tacos, and portabella mushroom sandwich. The beers were tasty and the prices were very reasonable. We would definitely go back!

   It was a great evening-but they seem to rush you out ( even though we were the late seating).They had no coffee, or dessert. Left and got that elsewhere! We could have stayed and listened all night to the band, but the staff didn't encourage in any way, with asking if we'd like anything else...drinks, etc. just handed us the bill
