The American steakhouse is an iconic restaurant institution. We’d wanted to tell that story for years, but waited until we had the skill, talent and ability to execute it properly, and the right space to be our canvas, an important corner in Little Italy, a neighborhood where we have deep roots. We brought an almost academic appreciation for steakhouse history and tradition to Born & Raised, while trying to stay relevant and authentic to ourselves and our city. Our dry-aged beef pays tribute to earlier, earthier, pre-government grading practices and is the centerpiece of a meal best savored at a slow pace. Very friendly staff - from the time we arrived until the end of our meal. Prompt and attentive. Impeccable service. Quality food. However too dim which made it difficult to read menu and see the food. The restaurant had a great vibe. I would return again.

Recommended by a friend in San Diego as the best steakhouse. He was not wrong! Beautiful restaurant, staff was wonderful and on top of it. Steaks were cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. Price was what you would expect for this quality of a restaurant. Highly recommend.

Wow. Best steak I’ve ever had and all I can say is that the desserts are to die for. Had T-Bone Med-Rare with a few sides and then a Cheesecake to share to finish.

Whenever I’m in San Diego I make sure this is on the itinerary. It never disappoints. The table side Caesar salad, Japanese wagyu, filet 8oz and Mac and cheese were 10/10. Also the drinks were top tier. I had the whiskey smash and espresso martini. The service is unmatched. Can’t wait to be back.

The ambiance is beautiful. We asked to move to the roof top due to the first floor is Smokey and it is hard on people who have asthma. Drinks were taken and our glass never dropped below 1/2 a glass before it was refilled. We ordered the house salad, meatball, 8 oz filet, chicken, broccolini, potatoes and bread. The food was exceptional. Every bite was delectable. We had the sweet potato cheese cake for dessert. What and experience. Definitely worth coming.
