   Not been before but review good. Lived up to expectations. Dick was excellent. My partner was less keen on cod. Overall it’s good - certainly very good value. Ambiance somehow a bit lacking.

   Great food combined with good, unobtrusive, friendly service. This was our third visit and the standards are consistent.

   Our first visit and we will definitely be back. The food was presented beautifully and was very good. The service was excellent.

   We enjoyed an excellent meal at Borage - 'fine dining' style food but in relaxed surroundings and very reasonable priced. All the courses were delicious including chicken tortellini, potato and caviar volute, and fillet steak. The service was very friendly, helpful when advising on wine, and attentive. The surroundings were unfussy and relaxed in keeping with the 'neighbourhood restaurant' feel. Although the table setting itself was very smart with white tablecloths. We will definitely be back with friends ... and although there were high chairs and baby changing facilities we will make sure we leave the kids at home and keep Borage as an adult only treat!

   Excellent service from two young and attentive waiting staff coupled with some genuinely tasty and well presented food, and all at very reasonable prices. We left feeling both satiated and satisfied

   Borage is a fantastic little restaurant. It has been very nicely decorated and fitted out and the lady who served us could not have been more welcoming. And the food is brilliant. There is not a huge choice on the menu but the options are all very appealing, freshly prepared and delicious. We were there for lunch and thought it tremendous value. Would definitely recommend.

   We booked for 8pm and the service was so slow. Our order eventually got taken at 8:30 and we didn’t get ours mains until 9:45. By this time we were so hungry. The food was nice but the wait was just so long. The waitress said the reason was because there was a large booking (about 10 people) but the rest of the restaurant wasn’t very busy. Unfortunately it spoilt it for us and we are unlikely to return.

    My Wife and I went to celebrate our anniversary, my wife had the Scallops and Duck, I had the Chicken Consume and Fillet Steak. The menu rotates periodically and this particular one is only on for a few weeks in-between Christmas and the New Year. The restaurant is on two floors, we sat upstairs on this occasion, the rooms are a little sparse in décor, but nice enough. The food was outstanding, each dish made up of several elements, for example, the steak I had came with creamed potato, spinach, sweetened fried onions, red wine jous, and a croquette of braised steak within a breadcrumb coating, all of which displayed the chef's skills and gave the diner a well rounded tasting menu within one dish. The portions were just about right and offered very good value for money, we had no room for desert but they kindly presented us with a complimentary chocolate mouse to share on a 'happy anniversary' icing piped plate which was a nice touch. This restaurant shows great promise and I will certainly be going back for more, it is head and shoulders above anything else in Altrincham and Hale and offers outstanding value for money in respect of the dishes produced. I wish them every success for the future and have no doubt it will become a very busy restaurant as word of mouth spreads.
