Opening a sushi restaurant Downtown has been on Le Thai owner Dan Coughlin’s to-do list for some time, especially since there is no other sushi in the area. “Honestly, when we bought Le Thai, I thought it would be the perfect space for sushi,” he says.

Not far away, Dan Coughlin transformed John E. Carson Hotel on the corner of Sixth Street and Carson Avenue into a taste adventure, Bocho. Not just another Sushi Restaurant, Bocho derives from the Japenese word for “Knife”. Bocho is a traditional Japanese restaurant with standard seating upstairs and an 18-seat sushi bar downstairs.

For a dining experience you won’t forget, Bocho is guaranteed to provide you with the freshest taste in Japanese Cuisine.

Just our misfortune that they ran out of uni, but the sake/salmon, Hamachi and kumpachi were fresh and accompanied the beer and cold sake perfectly. We'll definitely be back! !! KUMPAI! !!

We loved this place. It was recommended by a friend. All the rolls were exceptional. We were most impressed with the eel sushi pieces - best we have ever had. Great service too.

Wonderful food, discombobulated, slow and confused service. The couple next to us had to get their own menus, then eventually left after sitting there a long time without being helped. Also, OpenTable app is fickle, our reservation was not in the system. Too bad because the sushi is fantastic. At least they comped our beers, which was nice. If you come here with a low expectation for service speed, you will be fine.

Had a really great time! All aspects of a restaurant were met with 5 stars! Noise level would be low if upstairs in dining area, but energetic if downstairs in sushi-bar area.

Went on a Friday night with family to celebrate a birthday. The wait staff was friendly, sat us right away, and helpful with the menu. We tried the specialty rolls (#5 and another one), fried chicken (kara-age), and tempura appetizers. The sushi was fresh tasting and the fried appetizers were hot and not greasy. The flavors were delicious/not too spicy. Wish they had a version of their lunch menu at dinner time but all in all a satisfying meal in a cool space in DTLV. Will go again.

I did not get the opportunity to dine at Bocho. When we showed up, we were told that they had no record of the reservation because the manager gets the reservation alerts on his phone and he had already left. They had no space left and could not accommodate us. It was very disappointing, especially since we had paid for a cab to get to the restaurant.

We were seated in an appropriate friendly manner We ordered and that's when the problem started The waitress brought us the wrong dish and she argued with us and told us that was the right dish Long story short a large table came in after us and they had all their food before we got ours they received over eight rolls We sat there for 35 minutes with nothing We walked out won't go back
