   Learned of Boathouse Cafe on Chicago's Best, "hidden gem in Humboldt Park" tried it made res on OpenTable. Didn't need res, in fact even though they sent text to confirm, don't think they get many reservations. Pick any table you want, however there was no table service, order inside and we'll bring to you. My table and several others either didn't get orders, or received wrong order. I had to go back inside to get mine, which apparently had been ready/not delivered. Was annoying to go in and pay each time we wanted a drink. There was a level of disorganization. If they can improve service worth stopping in for brunch/lunch.

   Food was excellent and can't beat the views!! I would go there as longs as the weather permits. Like that they serve up to 9:30 pm outdoors.

   The food was great and the view was beautiful but the team was understaffed and overwhelmed. They were also out of their famous pork sandwich which was the main reason we made the drive.

   How was Boathouse? I wouldn't know. We didn't eat there. I made a reservation through open table for 10 am on Sunday, received an email confirmation for my reservation, then showed up at 10 am on Sunday only to discover that the restaurant was closed for a private event until noon. Isn't it weird that you would get a confirmation for your reservation when the restaurant is not open to you?

   The service is horrible. It took over an hour and a half for a burger and two lox sandwiches when there were only 3-4 tables seated. A man seated next to my table got up and left after ordering a burger that never came after an hour. Because he placed his order right before our table did, I suspect I was given his burger and that mine was never made, seeing as how I got a (cold) cheeseburger, which he ordered, and that I ordered a plain burger. It's a shame that the service isn't better because this is such a lovely setting. I probably won't ever eat here again, though.
