    I made a reservation for 5:45pm. When I got there I told the hostess I had reservations she replied it’s a 10-15 min wait, I asked even with a reservation she said yes. The reservation just tells us you coming it doesn’t reserve a table/spot.. I waited the 10 mins sat down there was a water leak from the ceiling that was dripping everywhere. The waiter came she spoke with us and the table next to us at the same time. She put our food order in and never came back to check on us or anything. We had to get utensils from the hostess. The food came out it was very bland no seasoning at all the onion and bell peppers were hard not fully cooked. The oysters was okay but could have been cooked a little longer. The drinks were good I must say.. Overall it’s not a spot I need to go back to unless I’m going for a drink because the food and the service was a NO!!

    Our server Cash was great! Host was terrifically unprofessional. Had a reservation but they apparently don’t differentiate between walk-ins and patrons with reservations, so we waited about 20 minutes past our reservation, even though the dining room was only about a quarter full. Food was generally very good, however portions on entrees and appetizers were small when considering the price. Oysters were great bang for my buck

    No cash accepted! Hand held device was shoved in my face I never really got to the price of our meal.

    Unfortunately, we did not have a great experience. We made a reservation and we we showed up at our designated reservation time, we were greeted rudely by the hostess and said “y’all wait over there, we are waiting on severs”. We stood outside on the sidewalk and within 15 minutes were were approached by the hostess and said we have a table. (The restaurant was 25% full). She dropped off the menus and we sat for another 15 minutes with no server. The manager then approached our table and asked if we had been helped and we stated no. We sat for another 5 with no server and proceeded to walk out. We had heard such amazing things about this restaurant and were excited to try a new place. Unfortunately we were not able to dine or experience what others had raved about. Hopefully, just an off day. Just a note ask to be seated away from the front as the DJ is very loud.

    The hosts were completely unprofessional. There was nobody at the host desk. Someone walked up, grabbed a menu, and didn’t acknowledge any of us standing there and walked away. Two you long girls finally came up and talked to each other while smacking on their gum. One finally was walking away and turned to motion for us to follow her. Not a word had been spoken to any guest at this point yet. Nobody knew how many we had in our party, if we did the reservation or anything. We were sat and it seemed all of the servers were gathering in the back of the restaurant. Our server finally came to us and she apologized saying she had just gotten to work. The food was mediocre. But to top with the service the entire experience was horrible. I would definitely expect more from a restaurant on Canal.

    We went to Blue Bayou at 6:00 on a Wednesday afternoon before our 7:30 Broadway show. Restaurant wasn’t busy. Lots of open tables, but workers were moving slow and displayed no excitement for being there. We had reservation, but no one asked about it. We were treated like walk up seating. We stood at the door for 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us and brought us to a table. We noticed lots of people sitting without food or drinks so we opted to sit at the oyster bar hoping to receive better service. We were wrong. Cooks never spoke to us or acknowledged us in any way. Uncommon for oyster bar & southern restaurant where everyone speaks. Bartender was our server. She was busy. Because we had been waiting for awhile, she took our food order immediately and said she would be back for drink order, but she never did. We wanted to try their speciality drinks, but didn’t want to add to her stress. It was apparent she was overwhelmed. I asked for a glass a wine from across the bar, assuming it would be an easy & immediate pour. I was wrong. Thought she had forgotten about it, but no, she brought it when she brought the ticket for our meal. Nothing like a glass of white wine for your after dinner drink. The food - awful. First of all, they have an appetizer on their menu called Oyster Trash, that matches the description and name of an appetizer at another local restaurant. This is what made us want to eat here. We were excited to try somewhere new while still eating one of our favorite dishes. We were wrong. Basically we paid $30 for a small, dry side salad with chewy old shrimp that tasted like they were pulled out of gumbo and small wilted crawfish and crabmeat thrown on top. It had a balsamic vinaigrette taste to it - not the lemon butter taste written in the description. The crab meat was okay, but tasted chewy & old. We wondered if we even had right meal, but no one cared enough to check on us. Blue Bayou oysters were good, but not enough to come back.

    The staff was really nice but, the food was just ok. I feel that they are overpriced for the quality of food.

    I made reservations for my birthday and when I arrived I was seated at my reserved time, the food was really good and the service was great! I will definitely be going back!!

    Seated right away and waited on. Waiter was very helpful in explaining the menu. Waiter apologized for the delay with drinks stating the bartender was backed up. We ended up receiving our food before we ever got our alcoholic beverages. We never received any refills on our drinks. Food was excellent. Wished our waiter would have been more attentive.
