   Small but great menu, very interesting options. One of the items had something sprinkled on top that was moving. I have never seen this before. It was so thin it moves with the smallest air movement. Fascinating!

   First time diners - all four of us were impressed with quality & quantity of servings. Unique & diverse menu meant final selections were very difficult & were not disappointed with results! Salads great & curry chicken special outstanding. Re-fashioned craft cocktail another winner! We changed our dining plans for our last night in Banff & are returning!

   Between four of us, we had a chartuerie board, the tuna tartar, the curry mussels, hangar steak and the lettuce wraps (pulled pork). The presentation and food was great, and that amount of food was filling too. Later in the evening, the music got a bit loud, but otherwise the experience was good.

   Delicious food. We shared different dishes, all were very tasty. I really liked the flatbread and the mussels.

   When holidaying in Lake Louise we booked Block Kitchen & Bar after reading reviews through Open Table. We were not disappointed and had a great night. The food was excellent, service friendly and a great wine list. I highly recommend booking a table as there are only a few.

   On a Saturday night, I understand why it would be busy. There were two servers that also served as bartenders. It took awhile to get water refilled, took an even longer time to get our bill considering the bar and another large table were keeping them busy. I do appreciate them taking off the chorizo sausage off our tab because we just couldn't eat it. It wasn't for our palate. There were basically 2-3 pieces of sausages under a mountain of random quinoa and vegetable broth mix - not for anyone wanting something simple. The cheese + charcuterie board was amazing and the bread was perfect. Just be careful if they ask you if you want more bread because you will get charged $3 for 5 more additional little pieces of naan bread. I hate to sound like I hate the place as this is our second time visiting and the first time was an absolute blast. Hence, the decision to return. I would simply recommend to come at the right time when it's not busy so that the service would be 10x better and make sure to try the charcuterie board!

   Dinner was great. The menu was not large but enough to satisfy our family. The staff was very friendly. Fun atmosphere. Small restaurant though.

   EXCELLENT! Shared a selection of hot and cold food from the menu - charcuterie was fantastic - but so was everything else we ordered! Good drinks and great service too. Be sure to book ahead as it's popular

    The Block is our go to destination every time we are in Banff. We love the fact you can make reservations, even for lunch. The food is so varied and inventive: our problem is trying to pick. We are torn between wishing the restaurant was a little bigger (and less crowded) or being glad it is so small and special. The Asian influenced items are excellent, but if you want something more local (bison burger) then you will also be happy. Service is great!
