Block Kitchen + Bar is a trendy new tapas bar that offers a fresh urban setting with birdcages and bare bulb lighting hanging from the ceiling, as well as wine bottles anchored to the wall and copper trimmings lined throughout.
An unlikely trio, local Banffites Andy Burke (entrepreneur), Chris Beecroft (construction) and Jay Ahn (hospitality) teamed up their areas of expertise to open this intimate space serving up a mostly Mediterranean-Asian-inspired menu. The warm, rustic space offers a fun, playful vibe. It’s the perfect place to hit up for a cocktail, some tapas, or a full meal.
Renowned Chef Stephane Prevost brings years of experience (former chef-owner of Banff favourites; Typhoon and Cafe Sole) to the kitchen. The menu is bursting in variety, from the staple edamame to sake-infused kinpira, along with a crowd-pleaser cheese and charcuterie board as well as grilled scallops and much more.
