   Absolutely loved it, service wasn't the best. We were pointed to our seat but had to get our own menus and there was 1 meal that didn't show up with the others, we waited a couple of minutes but nobody came back so my partner went up to kitchen and a couple minutes later the last meal appeared. It didn't put me off, the first time we've been and everyone really enjoyed it except for the person who got the Kate meal, she didn't enjoy the lamb. I'd be back. We went with kids, I'd return without the kids just me and my partner and try and have some time in the outdoor area as that was lovely too.

   Beautiful restaurant and great service as always. We went for the Sunday lunch 2 course and chose the roast beef which was a little disappointing, the slices of beef were really thinly sliced and not much at all. My son had the kids fish fingers and for £9 they were just basic frozen fish fingers. Deserts were lovely, however 2 of us had the same desert but totally different potion size. Overall the food tasted lovely but definitely not as good as previous visits.

   Very pleasant atmosphere and very friendly service, including a nice personalized card for our anniversary. We chose our meals from the menu, together with the wine pairing. As a starter we had a platter with assorted starters. That was really very nice. We enjoyed every bit of it. As a main dish I had the catch of the day, sea trout, my wife had the pan fried cod. The trout was delicious. But the cod was unfortunately overcooked and had become dry and tough. My wife didn't enjoy it, and having tried a piece, I must agree with her. No complaints about the wine pairings. They were matched nicely to the dishes. Overall, prices are very reasonable, and the place is really nice. Just unfortunate, the cod was not up to par. Blackfriars was on our bucket list since we moved to Newcastle 2 years ago. Happy we finally went. But it may not end up in the top of our list.

   Fabulous meal as ever. Wonderful building, great food, staff very friendly & efficient. Used voucher which was a present. Had lunchtime 3 course menu. Spoilt for choice. Took opportunity to try their Spring menu. Loved it all. Will definitely return, 5 star in every area.

   Great food and excellent wine paring. The set menus offer excellent food options and are great value. Service and atmosphere were spot on

   A perfect lunch in a setting with a great ambience. Staff very friendly and attentive. Timing of service just right - felt relaxed as you weren't rushed but not kept waiting for too long either. Good range of choices on a new spring menu and everything we had was really tasty and enjoyable.

   Here for Sunday lunch, gift voucher used from Christmas. Service was very busy, so understandably slow with main course. Generous serving of dinner, only slight complaint was too much gravy, I would rather serve myself with gravy than having it nearly overflow the plate! That said it was very tasty. Thanks to Maria for exceptional customer service, although working under pressure, she was very smiley and genuine.
