About this restaurant

  • Good for groups
From the décor to the menu, every aspect of Bierhaus NYC pays homage to traditional German tavern fare and drinks. Appetizer options include Bavarian-inspired soft pretzels with sweet or spicy mustard as well as flammkuchen, a flatbread topped with sour cream, bacon and onions, both of which complement a frosty mug of beer. Bierhaus NYC's numerous sausage wursts, made from beef, pork, chicken or veal, are very popular with diners. Schnitzels and a variety of sandwiches, like the haus reuban and the haus burger are incredibly tasty as well as being clever nods to German inspiration. To accompany your meal and enhance the scenery, be sure to try a German beer, available in sizes ranging from one half liter to 2-liter boots. For Bierhaus NYC, every day is spent celebrating Oktoberfest.

Great German beer selection! There was a live band and a trivia game going on, fun and loud atmosphere, with large tv monitors to watch all the different sporting events!

Service started off rushed then at the end coffee and dessert took far too long. Never got the coffee. Food was okay. Portions are well sized. We took home leftovers.

The food was awesome. Wished there was a location near our home in Texas.

First of all, they didn't have our reservation as they "stopped using OpenTable" the day before. The food was not up to par. The wurst was just wrong in both texture and flavor. The Goulash Soup came with a huge bone in it for display, which was really just a nuisance. Then the meat in the goulash was probably 75% fat. Our starter came after our entrees, but they were good about it and took it off the bill without us asking. The presentation was great, but the flavor and quality of the food was not up to par.

We really had a good time here. German food with classic German beer. Some of the features were a bit tacky and not related to the theme (e.g. flower stickers in the window). The staff was very knowledgeable and directed us to get the right food platters. The wait time was a bit long but diluted by a lot of beer...

Fun atmosphere. Food was good but heavy, although sides were awesome, recommend the red cabbage, spätzle and potato, and cucumber salads. Service was a little slow.

The food was great, but the service was extremely slow. The live music was nice, but very loud for such a small space.
