Chef John Mooney’s restaurant gets its name from General John Bidwell, an Army general in the 1800′s and founder of Chico, California. An avid farmer, he developed the Bidwell heirloom melon, a gold medal winning flour, and California’s first commercial raisin crop.
The Bidwell menu features Chef John Mooney’s signature dishes with Southern flair and flavor including: Gin & Tonic Salmon with Caramelized Cauliflower, Crispy Deviled Eggs with Homemade Ranch Dressing, Lobster Taco with Avocado Tomatillo Salsa, and Suckling Pig. Completing the menu is a confidently curated selection of regional wines, craft beers and classic cocktails.

I didn’t dine here because they were closed. Open Table let me make a reservation even though they were closed that day.

First at the Bidwell and I will be back. Fried chicken is one my favorite meals so I had to order theirs, and I was not disappointed. Breading was flavorful and crispy, the chicken was Judith, and the sides of green beans and mashed potatoes were great. Cannot wait to eat there again.

Excellent! Quality of the food is top shelf! My family went to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Appetizer: Buffalo Wings, delicious and tasty with a kick! Main Course: Fried Chicken Ny Strip Steak Patty Melt Burger All entrees were top notch!!! Love the food the staff and service!

Went for dinner with my daughter, food was very good, cocktails were ok. My one complaint has to do with service. This restaurant is located inside of a food hall- without a dedicated bathroom. During dinner my daughter needed to use the restroom, I got up to take her and when I returned the waiter had cleared our table.. he said he thought we had dined and dashed. While they did bring back out our pizza, it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Had a great meal. Wide variety of options on the menu. Great service and food was tasty. Restaurant is a little noisy but will definitely be back.

Bidwell was an enjoyable place for brunch though in a whirlwind of bustling activity as people shop in stalls nearby. There is free parking close by though entrance and exit is on 6th Street NE only. My patty melt burger was well prepared with high quality ingredients. The iced tea was served in a mason jar mug. My guests egg white omelet came with hash brown potatoes. Service is friendly but a bit inexperienced. There is a large well stocked bar against the wall. I’d go back to try more of the entrees. If you are lucky enough to get a parking space in the lot. Definitely try this restaurant!

Had a lovely dinner at Bidwell's. One of our party needed gluten free foods, and he got a gluten free pizza. There was something for everyone.
