   I’ve celebrated my anniversary here twice now and I’ve enjoyed it each time. It’s costly, but the place feels like a proper restaurant with its food and service. The staff is always nice and food is delicious.

   We expected an excellent evening including food and service. The service was professional and friendly. However, our dinner started with timely soup and salad. We waited too long for our steak dinner and it was served rare not med rare. Sides were warm not hot. The meal was remade and was the way we would have expected the 1st time. It was served by another person. We had high expectations for dessert. However, again the coffee was served in a timely manner. Dessert took almost 30 minutes after the coffee and the apple dessert was room temperature with melted ice cream. In consideration, my husband and I thought if you had servers that brought our food when it was ready and have to wait for our waiter. Just a suggestion. All in all, we had an enjoyable evening celebrating our anniversary. It just didn't meet our expectations.

   We ordered table side, Caesar salad for the first time in our server said he was using his own recipe, which had too much Tabasco and way too much Parmesan cheese. We couldn’t eat it. He forgot to bring our wine and he seemed scattering the whole evening on the contrary, our server in the dessert room was amazing

   We have always had a great experience, so when we had overseas family visit we chose Berns over the other steakhouses in Tampa. Not the experience this time. Our server was inattentive we had to ask for drinks and water half the time trying to track him down. No welcome no offer for the tour or dessert room for our guests we asked for it, we would have probably ordered appetizers and extras had we been offered and the server acted rushed to get out of the building. We had better service for lunch at Applebees. Dessert room was better but were handed the bill before asked if anything was good or if we needed anything else. Disappointing and it’s unfortunate we will have to go elsewhere next time.

    It had been over 30 years since we have eaten at Berns, and they did not let us down. The experience was worth every penny. Our waiter Abdul was wonderful! The only thing was missing was our favorite dessert “Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate “!
