   Went here for Mother’s Day dinner and had such a great experience. The place was busy (as expected) but the staff was still super friendly and attentive. We ordered a few dishes to share and the Cornish Hen was delicious. My mom loved it and so did I. We'll be coming back.

   We visited for Mother’s Day brunch, but unfortunately, it was a miss for us. While the restaurant has great potential, both the food and service fell short of expectations. We ended up leaving before receiving the final course of our set menu. We were initially understanding of the longer-than-usual wait times, given the holiday crowd and the fact that brunch doesn’t appear to be their usual service. However, execution was lacking. The food was just okay. My wife’s “spring toast” appetizer was beautifully presented, but the flavours and textures didn’t come together well. I had the beef tartare, which was over-seasoned to the point that I could barely taste the beef. It was served with rice crackers that didn’t complement the dish. About 30 minutes later, we received our next course. My wife had a creative take on a salmon Benedict, which was enjoyable, but the accompanying salad was wilted and overdressed. I had the BALT sandwich with a green goddess dressing. Unfortunately, between the tomato, avocado, and dressing, it became a soggy, messy sandwich I couldn’t finish. We were looking forward to dessert, as the menu looked promising, but chose not to stay for it. As we were already there for 2 hours and had just received our main courses. Our server did her best and kindly brought complimentary fries and drinks for our kids, which we appreciated. However, it would have made a big difference to see the manager or owner step in to help with service recovery and talking to the guests. Overall, the restaurant has a lot of potential, and I’m sure they’re capable of delivering a great experience—but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for us this time.

   We were caught in traffic and were 30 minutes late. We messaged thru the app and received a note saying that our table would be held. We were headed for the theatre afterwards ... so they served our meal quickly and brought the cheque right away. Great service.

   We have dined here multiple times over the years and have always had a super experience. Something was seriously off the rails on Saturday night however. The food was the usual amazing but the service was terrible. We ordered cocktails and one starter and received the starter in good order but waited, and waited for our drinks. Our waitress came back and we ordered the rest of our plates and they came out fairly quickly but still no drinks. We finally saw them being made and placed on a tray on the bar(we sat right beside it). After our waitress, plus the bartender walking back and forth past them multiple times I was finally able to get the bartender’s attention and ask for them to be brought over. No apology or explanation. Hoping this was a one-off as this is definitely one of our favourites in Hamilton. A very strange experience indeed.

   We just did not enjoy our meal very much. I had the Gnocchi. It was as if they pan seared it with a half of cup of diced oiled garlic. I didn't like the taste of it.
