   So a co-worker and I visited Beef and Brandy for a good bite to eat during our lunch. My Reuben sandwich was great, French fries were pretty good; the only problem was that my co-worker's food was not up to par. The waitress said that she would handle the portion of the bill that was not eaten. When we received the bill, the situation was not taken care of. When management (older lady with red hair) came to our table, SHE THREW THE RECEIPT IN FRONT OF US AND SAID, "This is the bill and you're gonna pay it..." Without listening to what happened, the manager continued dismiss our grievances and went to the registers. WHEN WE GOT TO THE FRONT, HER DEMEANOR WENT FROM BAD TO WORST. My co-worker and I continued to try to reason with the manager; she said and I quote, "You people are the only people to ever have a problem with our service!" I then asked her why she was being disrespectful and rude. In a snarky tone, she said "It's not me, it's you!" We asked if we can speak to her superior, she pointed to business cards and told us to help ourselves. I was getting upset and just wanted to leave. She then said, "Forget her bill, you just pay your bill, if you're gonna pay it" HERE I AM WITH MY CREDIT CARD IN MY HAND, WILLING TO PAY FOR MY FOOD BEYOND HER DISRESPECT, AND THE SHE SAYS "...IF YOU'RE GONNA PAY IT." Being an Black woman, I asked her what did she mean by that? She began back peddling her words. I asked her to get out my face and I would pay the young man standing beside her. I could not hand over my payment to a disrespectful person like her. She got angry that I told her to get out my face, she runs to the back and huddle her employees telling them what I said. They stared at us as if they were turning to a mob on her behalf. I WILL NEVER ENJOY ANOTHER MEAL AT A PLACE THAT REFUSES TO RESPECT CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE A SIMPLE CUSTOMER SERVICE PROBLEM; NONE OF THIS WARRENTED DISRESPECT OR A MOB FORMATION AGAINST 2 WOMEN WITH A MINOR GREIVANCE.

   I took my family of six for dinner on a Friday evening. The decor is unique, the prices are VERY reasonable, the food was very good and the service was great!

   I really do like meeting friends here for lunch. It is comfortable and the food and service are good to very good. The price is right too and the portion size is generous.

   We had made reservations (via phone unfortunately not OpenTables) at a well known restaurant but they had lost it and were unhelpful,rude actually. So while we waited for a table I whipped out my OpenTable app and made a reservation at nearby Beef and Brandy. They could not have been more accommodating. There were 5 of us. We were seated immediately. The noise level was subdued and we could truly talk in normal voices. We were never rushed. We never felt like we had to gobble our food so they could turn over the table. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and helpful. The food was good,not special but quite good and reasonably priced. I was very impressed with the offerings of the bar concerning mixed drinks and beer. I will return.

   I do enjoy my lunches at the Beef and Brandy. Soups, sandwiches, salads are all tasty and plentiful. I often can only eat half of my order and then I take the rest to go. Very friendly staff and I am greeted as I enter. Good prices and value.

   The Beef and Brandy is a good place for good food at reasonable prices. The service is good too. I am always greeted in a friendly manner at the door and promptly seated.

   Loved that we got a last minute reservation - made reservations from Rockford, Il about 5 hrs earlier. Excellent location with wide variety on menu. We had the Seafood Chowder, toss salad with blue cheese dressing, Ruben sandwich and the Liver and Onions. Entrees were excellent, salad dressing - large blue cheese crumbles Waitress was sweet, interested in us and seemed honest in her suggestions. Price was excellent. Checked out the kids menu for when we have our grandchildren with us….chicken fingers, pizza, hot chocolate will be appreciated by them. Wasn't crowded. Only downside: hubby had a hard time not watching the game….he was facing the TV…next time we'll sit with me in that seat….but it was a cozy corner L-shaped booth.

   We have enjoyed our dining at the Beef and Brandy for breakfast and lunch. We work in the loop so it is good to have a place where you can expect good food and service.

   I had made a reservation for 15 people about a day earlier. I was in the area and stopped by the restaurant about 2 hours before we were scheduled to arrive. When I got there the hostess didn't know anything about a reservation saying, "we don't usually take reservations." I explained that I had made the reservation via Open Table. She still looked perplexed but said there shouldn't be a problem accommodating us. She called over the owner who was very nice and gave us a choice to have our group upstairs or down. He also said there wouldn't be a problem if we had a larger group and even let us have a private room. Our group expanded to 24 and while service was slow, they were welcoming and even gave us individual checks.

    I go to the Beef and Brandy for breakfast and lunch. The food is reasonably priced and good. The wait staff is very professional and courteous. A good value.
