   Not very spacious, basically you're sitting in a hallway to the bookstore. Decorations were cute and staff was helpful. Value for the food is very low. Even with the price of eggs, the quiche was way overpriced. And they have a kitchen appreciation fee!

   We were pleasantly surprised and will return when we are able. The decor with the surrounding books was outstanding. The service was excellent without being overwhelming

   A lovely afternoon at the Beacon Hill Cafe and bookstore. We had a reservation and arrived early. Enjoyed the bookstore after checking in with the hostess then walked to the bookstore to shop. Our table was available early and we had a delicious lunch, cocktails and their signature apple cinnamon cobbler for dessert. Also enjoyed a pot of Earl Gray!

   Delicious meal in a charming setting! Our party of three enjoyed spring mint pea soup and tuna tartare for first courses. The soup was bright and delicious - a perfect portion. I didn’t try the tartare, but was assured it was very good. For main courses we had the herb and mushroom quiche, lamb moussaka (daily special), and NY strip steak with bearnaise. All were flavorful and fresh. I especially liked the slight flavor of Dijon mustard and the perfectly golden, crunchy top of my quiche. The desserts were decadent: a spiced carrot cake and semifreddo with chocolate, espresso, and hazelnut. My son said the cake reminded him of a holiday stollen. We’re sure to book another seating the next time we’re in Boston. Thank you for the excellent meal and kind service.

    Terrible experience at this café. What a beautiful place but we were so rushed by servers. Multiple times they came over and dropped the check. Literally, they printed it multiple times and dropped it on our table. After an hour and a half they came to our table and asked us to leave because they needed a table for someone else. I don’t think being at a restaurant eating a meal for an hour and a half is an unreasonable amount of time. I will not return unfortunately.
