Bastion is the 24-seat restaurant of James Beard Foundation Award Nominee Chef Josh Habiger. It is located in a separate area within the casual cocktail bar of the same name, and it is a part of the Wedgewood Houston neighborhood of Nashville, TN. Bastion's dining room features counter seating around the kitchen for parties of 2 as well as three tables for parties of 3 to 6. Bastion's small team serves a weekly set menu of six dinner courses featuring many dishes with a wide variety of flavors, ingredients, and inspirations. Friendly service guides you through the culinary experience, which also features wine pairings, creative cocktails, and a curated vinyl soundtrack. Come early or stay late in the hidden Little Bar, which is a private offering for guests of the restaurant.

A wonderful experience! The chefs were fantastic and each tasting a sensory delight. Each person we encountered, chefs, servers, sommelier, bartender were on point and made for a perfect evening.

Bastion continues to be one of the best experiences in Nashville if not the best. Josh and his team are absolutely incredible professionals. From the moment you enter the small bar before dinner you are greeted warmly like you are a dinner guest at their home. Food to match and while it is probably the most difficult reservation to secure in Nashville, it is certainly worth the effort. The wine pairings were spot on and Eric does a great job of pairing the perfect compliment to each food course.

Amazing meal & great experience. Customer service executed at the highest level. The staff was so friendly & welcoming. I really thought we lucked out by sitting at the bar and being able to chat with the team during our meal. We had a great time. Definitely get the wine pairing!

This was our second time to Bastion. We think that it's a unique culinary experience that's worth the price, with flavor combinations that we'd not find anywhere else. Not just the food, either - the mixed drinks were complex and delicious as well. And if you do add the wine pairing, you'll get to try wines that are not commonly known. Smaller parties of two get to sit at the food bar, watching the chefs prepare the courses, and they seem genuinely happy to field questions about the food — they clearly love food and finding unique ways of preparing it or pairing flavors. We left full (but not sickly full) and still talking about the food and the various courses and which was "best" (no agreement, but also no clear winner as it was all fantastic). We also appreciate that they do not appear to have a hard time adjusting for food preferences, such as someone who is pescatarian. (Although I did read they cannot adjust for strictly vegan.)

We travel globally and eat at multiple Michelin star restaurants, yet still find driving hundreds of extra miles to eat at Bastion delivers the best dinner anywhere n the world. Highly creative and always brilliantly delicious. All sorts of ingredients I usually don’t favor, but here they know how make it all work. Warm friendly staff, eager to explain without getting lost or intruding, treat us like family. Our favorite restaurant in the world, literally.
