   Food was good. But ambiance and service were terrible, bordering on strange.

   I wasn't sure what to expect at Barile, with it being a relatively new restaurant. However, I was blown away by the quality and variety of food - as well as the customer service. Being first timers, we were given recommendations by our waiter that did not disappoint. I highly recommend the mussels app if you're into that sort of thing. They were unique and unlike anything I've had before. I could have ordered two more portions and eaten them solely by myself. At the end of the meal, we expected it to be quite expensive as we had ordered several dishes and a bottle of wine -- but were pleasantly surprised by the bill. I will definitely go back as there are many items on the menu that I'd still like to try. It also looks like they have a bomb brunch.

   Fabulous!!! Food, staff & cocktails! Thank you! I love that one can reserve a table here before a show at Zach Scott theater and enjoy a delicious meal. The entrees, appetizers and cocktails were phenomenal! Thanks to a great waitress and bartender. Cheers!!

   We were wondering what Barile would be like for a quick dinner before the Zach, having enjoyed Flour and Vile in the past. We were very pleasantly surprised by the creative menu and tasty Italian food. Service was attentive without being overbearing. And without asking, they gave us a discount for a particularly noisy table next to us. We will definitely return!

   Disappointment with every course. The Polenta Crostini was not grilled, not crispy, and not hot. In fact, it was room temp and mushy. The "tomato and black olive salsa" was a very goopy, over-sweet, very dark caramelized onion mess. (And I love caramelized onions and olives!) Our Champagne salads were fine but served in very warm (straight from the dishwasher) bowls. Every salad bowl doesn't have to be chilled (although they should be at a fine dining establishment) however they should NOT wilt the spinach and melt the gorgonzola. Two of us had the grilled salmon, which was tasty as were the sides, however, both of our entrees were overcooked to the point of dryness. Our third diner had the risotto and scallops and was utterly and thoroughly disappointed. Her scallops were again overcooked to the point of rubberized pellets. The "risotto" was a dry, undercooked, gloppy mess. Needless to say, we didn't test fate with dessert and will not return. We were sad that such a comfortable and attractive dining room, at a great central location, EASY FREE PARKING, and good service, would be so far off point at every turn when it came down to the most important element: food. Our server was friendly and efficient. She even offered one of our party a taste of several wines to help her make her decision.

   I arrived a half hour early because traffic was uncharacteristically free flowing. They seated me immediately! The food reminded me of my Italian vacation, it was so very good!

   This is my second time at Barile. I have not been disappointed in the two meals. I recommend everyone try the Chasing Lion Chardonnay - it is most excellent.

    Salmon was over cooked, over salted and had some kind of pink sauce that was really unappetizing. Potatoes and carrots were swimming in oil. The mozzarella on the chefs board was really good. Tabouli was fresh and very tasty.
