   What a cool place! We went on a spontaneous date night. I’ve been to Puma and loved it, so I was curious to check out Barda. We started with cocktails — both of us had the No Más Nieve. Deep, rich flavor, mezcal-forward but smooth. And I loved the smaller, softer martini-style glasses — a fun touch. We booked last-minute, so the only seats left were at the bar — totally fine by us. Great view of the action, and we had a fantastic bartender. I wore a sleeveless dress and it was a little chilly, so maybe bring a layer if you run cold like me. Also, I had heels on, and since the bar is sunken, every time I stood up I felt like a glamazon towering over the room. The space itself is clean and stylish — loved the tiled bar and the open kitchen. We even saw the owner working alongside the staff, which is always cool. Our bartender shared how much he loves the team vibe, and that warmth really came through. The food? Incredible. We started with the beets — recommended by our bartender — and wow. Gorgeous presentation, and the flavors? Bright, tangy, unexpected. Don’t miss them. Next up was the chorizo with pickled fennel — smoky, spicy, crunchy. Then the pork tomahawk — massive and well-seasoned. My partner was in heaven. I’m more of a whole-pig-roast kind of gal, but I still enjoyed a few bites. I had the Bife — juicy, flavorful, and that chimibutter? I could’ve eaten it with a baguette and been happy. We also shared the Peruvian potatoes — crispy, creamy, perfectly seasoned. To finish, a glass of Wispa (Argentinian Pinot) and a flan — silky, balanced, not overly sweet. Vibe-wise, the whole place feels intentional and welcoming. This isn’t an everyday spot — it was a splurge for us — but it’s 100% worth it for a special night or if you want to treat yourself to something a little different. We’ll definitely be back.

   This is really rising star of Metro Detroit. The taste and flavor for each bite is priceless. Totally recommended.

   We did the steakhouse Thursday but also added burrata and rice with scallops. Everything was great! The service was outstanding too!

    The $70 short rib was VERY VERY fatty and not worth eating. Unfortunately, it sort of spoiled the whole experience. Drinks were good. Other food looked good. Not a great value.
