I lived in Leicester for years and Barceloneta/Dos Hermanos was always a go to for group dinners and weekend brunches. I thought it would be a great pre theatre place and a treat based on past experiences…however, it was disappointing. The website advertised an express menu which looked like great value, but a tiny poster as you went in said that it was Monday-Wednesday (we went on a Thursday). Inside, the music was tinny and the tables crammed in. The dishes were good, but lacked herbs and garlic. Our waitress (sorry!) seemed disengaged and we had to catch her and ask to order after 15 minutes of being there. I used the bathroom in Dos Hermanos next door and was pleased to see that it still has the double loos for going in with friends, which was a super cool thing to do, but overall the whole place seemed tired and stuck in a bit of time warp. Maybe that’s good for some, but with the rest of Queens Road so vibrant and energetic, the nostalgia was quickly replaced by disappointment that it doesn’t have the welcome and energy that I used to feel from going there before when it was such an experiential place to dine. Maybe it’s different at weekends, but it was nearly the weekend!

It was a pleasure to host and see you back in Barceloneta restaurant after many years.
The Barceloneta Express menu is served from Monday to Wednesday only between 5pm to 6pm which is also advertised on the website. We don't serve the Express menu besides those days.
The staff being disengaged is clearly a training issue from our side which we are working on to improve, So our customers get the best experience at Barceloneta.
