   The food was absolutely phenomenal! The highlight was absolutely the Dahi Puri, add some Tamarind Chutney and it's an unforgettable flavor explosion!! One of my new favorite bites in Chicago! However, I do have to point out that the service was extremely slow. It took a good 10 minutes for someone to come get us from the Hostess stand at the front when we got there, and we had to waive someone down to take our order after a long wait time. It was very unorganized and frustrating, but the staff was very nice.

   The server Melissa needs better training. I ordered a bottle of wine and instead of showing me the bottle ,she brought it already opened and poured. Never giving me a chance to see it ,let alone try it. We have dined here before and never experienced this poor service.

   Our experience at Bar Goa had its highs and lows. Let’s start with the positives: The ambiance is stylish, and the food tasted great. However, several issues kept this from being a great night. The not-so-good: - A 4% “restaurant surcharge” was added on top of the automatic 20% gratuity. While they removed it after we asked, it felt sneaky for a $515 dinner (for six). Transparency matters! - Dishes are small and not “sharing-friendly” as implied, especially for the price. Manage expectations accordingly. - Uncomfortable, wobbly tables ruined the vibe—hard to relax during a pricey meal. - The online menu could be improved. The images were hidden, making it hard to visualize dishes or plan orders. Bar Goa has potential, but the value feels off. For a high-end spot, the execution (small portions, confusing fees, uncomfortable seating) doesn’t justify the cost. We’d return for drinks/wine, but likely not for dinner. Proceed with caution!

   The food was delicious and so were our drinks! Our server was also very nice and patient with my friend and I as we took ages to decide on what to order :) This was my third time in and I’ll definitely be back! The fish curry was so good (got a side of garlic naan) and my friend ordered the chicken tikka flatbread which she enjoyed. Also shared the fried shrimp to start and it wonderful!

   Food tasted average, service was slow. We were kicked out of our table for sitting too long while we were having dinner just because they had reservations and didn’t have enough tables to accommodate them.
