The only reason to eat at Bar Alto is because of it's onsite proximity to events held at the Powerhouse. While the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, food is expensive, servings are small, and taste is pretty average.

You could not fault anything about our Sunday lunch. Simon, Rachel and the team do an amazing experience. Well worth a visit.

We had a pre-theatre meal and it was delicious. The staff are always fun and kind and super fast with their service. Highly recommend

Perfect weather, stunning outlook over the Brisbane river, dinner with great friends -Bar Alto proved to be the perfect place! Thank you one and all for a memorable evening. Delicious food, excellent wine choice and delightful service ...only comment from one guest was that the bread served might have been more tasty ....the olive oil and the balsamic glaze have certainly made an impact. Our friends will be on the hunt in Melbourne for these fine products . We all say "Grazie " we will return !

Good atmosphere, very attentive waiters. Unfortunately, the carnaroli risotto with bay bugs and basil was too salty and the dessert menu was minimal. I have had better there in the past so have not written it off totally.

We all enjoyed the fabulous food and wine at Bar Alto. Service with just the right amount of attention. Been twice recently and both times have been very enjoyable.

Courteous and helpful staff took us to our table and were attentive during the evening. Menu was easy to understand and the specials explained well. Perhaps some advice on the size of the portions would have helped as the entrée was largish but since it was also yummy, nothing went to waste. Food was good.
