   My husband and I absolutely love this restaurant! The service is always so friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. Our server, Varvara, we adore! She is so kind, fun and always has great information about the menu and the wines. The ambiance is very romantic and we can actually carry on a conversation in normal voices. This is one of our favorite places to dine!

   Babushka is a very Russian restaurant. The food is delicious, and according to my Russian guest, authentic. A very pleasant surprise is the wine and beer list, all from Eastern Europe, and nicely selected. I had a pinot noir-like wine from Georgia, and my companion had beer from the Czech Republic. Both were excellent (of course we tasted each other's beverages). The servers were young Eastern European women, eager to please, and helpful. Perhaps because we dined on a Saturday night, the restaurant felt somewhat understaffed. But these young women were trying hard, so full marks to them. The ambience was perhaps too Russian. The lights were as bright as an operating theater, and the noise reached arena-levels. We plan to go back on a weeknight, but not much will help the light level.

   Food was fantastic but waitress was young and extremely inattentive. Service was extremely slow but I think it was just due to her inexperience because we have eaten there before and found the meal to be more appropriately paced. Would definitely go back as it is a lovely place great for conversation with friends.

   Six of us enjoyed a lovely time at Babushka. This was a return visit for two of us and a new experience for the rest. Everything as always was great. Starters included the borscht, salads and Palmeni all of which were great hits. Entree’s of stroganoff, stuffed cabbage, pierogi’s and chicken were all excellent. We did save room for some of their amazing homemade cookies which are not to be missed as well as whatever special they might have. Really wonderful family feel and service it is truly a unique and special place in a city of a lot of cookie cutter dining options.
