Babalu is a Latin restaurant specializing in tapas and tacos. If the name of the restaurant sounds familiar, it is because it was the signature song of Ricky Ricardo from the famous television show, "I Love Lucy". The location of Babalu has some history too, it was originally the schoolhouse where owner Bill Latham's wife attended first grade, giving it even more sentimental value. Babalu has recently expanded into catering to supplement its dine-in experience.Babalu's Latin menu features dishes inspired primarily by the culinary epicenters of Spain and Italy. There are lots of great starters on the menu, but the most highly recommended is the guacamole, which is made tableside with Hass avocados, sun-dried tomato, red & green onion, cilantro, lime juice and kosher salt. The rest of the menu is made up of tapas, or small plates and tacos which are ordered for entrées.
