   A rare (for me) 5-star review in all categories. Excellent dishes (especially the dates wrapped in bacon), which is really something, because I don’t even normally like dates. Also the live piano music was delightful. My only negative was that red sangria could be a little richer in flavor (less ice?)

   This restaurant needs a lot of help. First of all, the atmosphere could definitely be spruced up. Candles on all the tables were really cute and could have added to the atmosphere, but none of them were lit. Tables were haphazardly put together and felt like they came from The Halfway Cafe. A tapas restaurant should have a cozy atmosphere and this one just doesn't have it. The food was horrible. I can't describe how badly it was. We ordered the garlic shrimp which came out faster than our drinks (which were watered down) could be served to us. It was cold, which makes you wonder if it had been sitting around for someone else and they just decided to give it to us. The calamari looked, smelled, and tasted as if it came from the freezer section of a grocery store. The dipping sauce accompanying it appeared to be some sort of salad dressing. Terrible! The brussel sprouts were flavorless and mushy. Dates wrapped in bacon is a staple for a tapas restaurant. The dates should be sweet, warm and chewy with the bacon crispy and salty surrounding the date. The version at Azucar was chewy, flavorless, and just sad. Lastly, the patatas bravas, another signature dish for a tapas restaurant fell short. Again, the potatoes felt like they came from a bag of frozen potatoes. These did arrive hot to our table and the sauce was passable. Lastly, while the service was friendly, they needed a little help here too. As I mentioned earlier, the dishes started coming out of the kitchen before our drinks even arrived. Tapas should be timed to come out in waves. Not all the food piled on your table at once. The runner had no place to put all the food at one point and she uncomfortable piled them anywhere she could. The wait staff and kitchen should be trained to time the dishes so that everything is not on the table at once. It felt rushed on top of everything else. Azucar is not worth the price they charge and is a joke of a tapas restaurant. I'd advise going anywhere else.

   Great experience. This was our second time there in 2 weeks. Fun and festive and I didn’t have to shout to my dining partner. The service, food, and cocktails 5 out of 5 stars. I never had to call for our server, he always new when we were finished and ready for the next drink, water, or food.

   The decorations for New Year’s Eve,greeted us with a beautiful balloon arrangement . The hostess donned a glittery headband and friendly welcome. What a festive way to start our evening. The tables seemed close together, but patrons remained friendly to each other, sitting in such close contact . all staff acted in efficient and friendly manner and within seconds away person was at our table, bringing water within minutes a lovely young lady came to take a drink order, and we found it difficult to decide which of the many unusual and interesting, looking cocktails to choose what decided on the lilac garden, and what a treat it was! I thought the dishes seemed only a little expensive, the quality, the food, put a smile on our faces due to the delicious flavors and unusual combinations in some cases. The music seemed too loud and took away from the relaxed atmosphere. We just wanted them to turn it down a few notches. The tapas dishes, such as meatballs, potatoes, mushrooms, and brussels sprouts taste so good we easily could’ve ordered a second serving 😊 We will return and look forward to dining there in the summer where they offer a lovely patio outdoor service

   An excellent experience. Ambiance, beautiful and delicious food, friendly and helpful staff. I love bringing friends here for the first time. A hidden treasure!

   This was our first time there. The tapas selection is very good. We had the mushrooms, dates, meatballs, fried cheese and pork tenderloin. All yummy. The paella (the name escapes me but it was the first in the list) was yummy too. If I were to make one suggestion it would be to cut back on the salt in the paella. We will be going back.

    The food choices, including vegetarian options, were excellent. The custom cocktails were great. The service and ambience were excellent. We will return again, especially for nice dinners on special occasions.
